Vent-Lack of items on special offer!!!
Why oh why don't shops get extra stock in to cope with demand when there is a well advertised special offer????

Vent: Flowers Direct
So I ordered flowers for my mum from Flowers Direct (flowersdirect.co.uk) for Mother's Day and they never turned up. Very disappointed. Their call centre is only Mon-Fri so there isn't even any way of phoning to ask where they are. That's about all to the story, but I just wanted to post this here as a warning to others…

Asda's Extortionate Price Rises
I was in Asda earlier today and could not believe the price rises that have happened on some goods just lately. I buy a Cadbury twin pack choc trifle normally 99p. Now this has been 99p ever since the packs were reduced to twin packs from a three pack and the pots also shrunk. Asda now have these at £1.18 per pack!…

Whats going on with greggs?
Really am getting sick of my local greggs shop and have actually sent an email to head office to complain. Firstly the pastys and sausage rolls are always cold, what is the point of advertising hot pastys if you arent going to sell them hot! I also no longer buy these there for hygiene reasons, if they are letting them go…

Complaint about Comet
On Friday - we had a replacement fridge-freezer delivered by Comet - Whilst I was out at work - leaving my wife to take delivery The old unit was taken away (pre arranged and paid for) - it had already been moved out of the kitchen into the conservatory - but the blokes who delivered the replacement refused to move the new…

Cowboy Builders
We are in the process of replacing our kitchen. Behind the units, we were shocked to find three electrical outlets had been very poorly installed and in a dangerous condition. The boxes are not attached, literally hanging out of the wall and bare wires are visible. So much for compliance with Building Regulations and what…

Local Bookshop
I read a lot. I also use my local bookshop a lot, I love books. I got banned yesterday! I thought I would help them out whilst I was there. All I did was move all the bibles into the fiction section! (sorry, we need a joke every now and then)[/

Vent: Next Flowers
We've had a really difficult family time recently. Illness, stress and a few harsh words. We thought, lets restart with a great Mothers Day and, because we can't get there due to work, splashed out on two bouquets of flowers from Next. I honestly thought the high cost would be worth it and Next completely reliable. One was…

T-Mobile 'you Choose'
About two weeks ago I started receiving blank texts from an unknown number, 400040, on my pay as you go mobile that I only use for contacting friends and to have with me in case of car breakdowns and such. Its not that modern a phone and I never use it for anything else and also don't give out the number to third party…

GRRRRRRRoupon
I sent Groupon the following on 10/3 followed by a copy of the email from the supplier. Neither email has been acknowledged and I have had no refund. Not good eh? The company canceled the session which I booked last Monday at the last minute and were unable to offer either an alternative date or an alternative activity.…

Flora 'New Improved'
Now tastes like animal sick? I've used Flora for years as it has been a really nice, neutral spread. Since they changed the recipe it a couple of months ago the kids won't eat it, the wife won't eat it and I've had to throw 2 kilos of it away. Seriously, when they test this stuff out do they use people who enjoy the taste…

Cathedral City Cheese
I used to love this product, but it's not what it was. The taste and texture has changed a bit and I don't know what Dairy Crest are trying to do with the size of it, but it is now so thin it takes five sliced to make a piece of cheese on toast. Perhaps they are making it small enough so you can post it 'large letter' ?

Equifax have ripped me off
Don't know if this has happened to anyone else but here goes. I needed to check my credit history the other day just to see who I have accounts with and how many I have. Went into the credit rating section of this website and saw Equifax have an instant report that you can try free of charge for 30 days (bar £1 admin fee).…

To complain or not?
Hello All I bought a prepacked salad at lunchtime today. Took it back to work and whilst eating it found a smallish stone in it. I had scooped it up on the fork and had the stone in my mouth at this point. Now, I could have broken a tooth, but I didn't. Nothing bad happened, but part of me thinks it's a bit rubblish that…

Under the Counter Cigarettes - Bad for consumers in its present form
An elderly man asked me to have a look at the prices of some cigarette brands from Tescos. He usually buys a big carton and it lasts him for 3 months. No problem! I found myself in one of the stores that is trialling the 'Under the Counter' consumer laws that will come into force nationwide in April 2012. The display was…

Praise for OFT: Groupon
The OFT have induced Groupon to promise to mend its ways, at least to some extent. See here and here Groupon certainly seem to be one of the 'usual suspects' here. Good to see TPTB taking an interest.
