Vent: Flowers Direct

So I ordered flowers for my mum from Flowers Direct (flowersdirect.co.uk) for Mother's Day and they never turned up. Very disappointed. Their call centre is only Mon-Fri so there isn't even any way of phoning to ask where they are.
That's about all to the story, but I just wanted to post this here as a warning to others who might think about using the company in future. Don't!

Had same problem with this and similar. My birthday is on Christmas Day and my Mum used this company on more than one occasion to send me birthday flowers - two non deliveries and one delivery of dead flowers. I complained to the company and asked Mum tactfully not to waste money trying to send flowers at one of the peak times of the year. She now gives me garden vouchers so I can buy something permanent for the garden to mark each passing year.0

Flowers Direct are simply a relay. They gather orders, take their cut and farm them out - If they have a member shop in the area the order will go to them, If not, they will just ring a local florist/flower seller etc... and even if told that the order cannot be fulfilled to the customers request ie; customer orders pink gerberas but florist only has yellow - They are more then happy for a florist to do whatever so they dont lose their commission. Most good florist shops have their own website or even googling a florist is better, at least then you can actually speak to someone trained to do the job! Also be aware that lots of flower gatherers who claim to be on "your high street" are nowhere near it. The flowers received should have the florists details on them, contact them and tell them you are not happy. Any decent florist will always try to correct any upsets as sometimes things do go wrong.0
