next directory returns £3.99 and service charges?
Can anyone enlighten me about the £3.99 returns charge? I thought if you returned an order they did not charge delivery? Also, I have a service charge - I take it this is from the balance on my account? Even though most was returned? eg I order £200 of stuff - keep £100 return the rest - I only pay £100 as thats what I…

Pre paid travel cards- incompatible with atm's?
HI I Wouldn't recommend using these if travelling in the USA as I had trouble getting cash out, even at major banks with matching logos. Ended up using other cards at times and even changing cash at an airport, wiping out any savings. :(

Thorpe Park 30 - 50% Card Fees!
Ooh, I'm so cross! My son has a Merlin pass & is going to 'Fright Night' tomorrow. You have to pre-book & pay a £5 surcharge - fair enough. You THEN have to pay either £1.50 for a debit card or £2.50 for using a credit card. What a bloomin' cheek.

Ticketmaster/DX Secure
Have been waiting for tickets for ages for a gig and eventually received an email from Ticketmaster just 2 weeks before to say that tickets had been sent via DX Secure. I checked the tracking immediately and surprise, surprise the DX Secure website said: "calling card left as delivery unsuccessful, please rebook delivery".…

Groupon =(
Couldn't figure out how to search the forum so sorry if this is a duplicate thread that you've all heard a million times. Bit of a rant first then some questions after. I've purchased through Groupon UK several times in the past and always enjoyed the experience. I was delighted when I saw a deal for slimming underwear…

Noisy neighbour's plumbing sounds
This is starting to drive us crazy ! We live in a terraced house and our bathroom and our neighbours share adjoining walls. In the last year whenever they flush their toilet their pipework starts making a horrendous humming noise-it sounds like someone's blowing a goddam trumpet for thirty seconds at a time !! They have…

Cineworld Unlimited Card - Unfair Terms by Cineworld
After 2 and half years, my Cineworld Unlimited card has worn out to the point that the photo isn't clear anymore. I was told by the cinema staff last night that I would have to request a new card (there is normally a £10 charge for this which in my opinion is unjust especially when the card hasn't been lost or stolen) . In…

HP - Terrible Customer Service
Hello all, Some months after purchasing a HP memory stick from Amazon, it stopped working. I contacted Amazon and they told me to contact HP first. I called the number Amazon gave me. They gave me another number Then they gave me another number. This number told me to call the number I had just been calling to. All in all,…

white van man Mattress Scam
Whilst walking home today just before 5:00pm a white van with shop livery drove up to me and the driver asked if I was interested in buying a memory foam mattress. Being aware of scams like this I politely refused and walked on. A few minutes later the same van was parked up ahead of me and the man was in conversation with…

Oyster
Hello, I noticed that I had two older student oyster cards that I had a balance on and as such I called the Oyster help line where the transfer took place and I was told that I would need to tap in at a selected station to get the credit on my Oyster card. Perfectly fine, I figured that it would incur a small charge…

PayPal - Bah!
My son bought a phone on ebay and he didn't have quite enough in his account so the payment bounced putting his PayPal account £154 into debit. His bank charged him another £25 for going over his OD limit. PayPal asked him to 'remedy his negative balance' after calling him, and my son (having received his student loan)…

Vent - Southeastern staff
About once a week I make a short one-way journey from where I work to my parents' house. The station where I board the train is one of those tiny unmanned ones, with a Permit To Travel machine that's permanently broken, so I usually buy a ticket from the man on the train or a 'reverse' one at the station of arrival. A few…

Heard a new scam this morning
Got a phone call this morning and as soon as I heard the voice I thought "Not another computer error message scam, I'm not in the mood." But, I was wrong. Infact they were ringing to inform me that the British Government were refunding me £481. Fantastic!!! Why was I entitled to this refund? Well, apparently, over the…

Amazon.co.uk double charge
Just a little rant about Amazon.... Bought a cd from them last week. Only £8.99. But they've taken it twice. Their customer service are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Just spoken to them on the phone & despite me telling them several times that both charges have LEFT my account, the stupid woman kept saying…

BT Broadband help
...was NO help at all. Fifty minutes on the phone; 15 'I'm so sorry M'am' from the technical representatives and four 'give me someone with more experience than you' before I hung up! BT broadband works for me. Has done for umpteen years. No problems. No breakdowns. Only one issue with email - tonight. Result? One very…
