Ticketmaster/DX Secure

Have been waiting for tickets for ages for a gig and eventually received an email from Ticketmaster just 2 weeks before to say that tickets had been sent via DX Secure. I checked the tracking immediately and surprise, surprise the DX Secure website said: "calling card left as delivery unsuccessful, please rebook delivery". Needless to say, there was no calling card.
Some googling later, I found that this supposed attempt to deliver is is a common occurrence with this courier company. It may well be that it's a trick to allow them to meet the service standards they are contracted to, because it gives them another day to deliver while blaming the customer for a non-existent attempted delivery.
To "rebook", you then have to call an 0844 number (5p per minute) which they no doubt get a nice slice of. In fact you can use a standard number 01604 496798 and press * when it asks for a tracking number, at which point, if it's office hours, it diverts to a human. (There was the (remote) possibility that they had tried to deliver to the wrong house, and I wanted to ensure that they had the correct address/directions which their automated money-making nonsense would not understand).
The tickets did arrive on the "rebooked" day, but that's not the point. I don't like being misled and then have to waste my time and money like this.
I have vowed in future to avoid Ticketmaster while they are using DX Secure, and try to book directly with the venue. Others may wish to do the same.
I understand that the Passport Agency are using these people for Passport deliveries.......
