Amazon.co.uk double charge

Just a little rant about Amazon....

Bought a cd from them last week. Only £8.99. But they've taken it twice. Their customer service are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Just spoken to them on the phone & despite me telling them several times that both charges have LEFT my account, the stupid woman kept saying one would be a "hold" that would drop off my account....... She said she can only see one payment (of course she can) and shes referred it to the billing department. IF they can see 2 payments, they'll refund one. Whats the betting they can only see 1 too........:mad::mad::mad:

If it helps I had an experience with Mama's and Papa's earlier this year. Spent £600 on pram etc and they took the money three times!!! Thankfully we had the money in the account but it cleared us out. Upon calling they said not to worry it was just a holding amount and that 2 x amounts would be paid back into my account within 5 - 7 working days. I said "it's not holding, the money has come OUT" they just repeated themselves. No concern that I was 5 months pregnant and left without any moneyfor food etc!! Anyway....the money was back in our account about 6 days later. I would chase them up in a week or so if the money hasn't come back in.

Double charge is a technical error, if Amazon won't resolve it just do a chargeback on the duplicate transaction.
  • Finally sorted now. Seems there was a "technical error" resulting in a number of people being charged twice and I should see the refund in 1-2 banking days. Shame the stroppy assistant I spoke to first hadn't briefed about this "error".
