asda making a fool of customers

i'm a disabled pensioner and only able to shop once every 2weeks , went to local asda store for dog food , only had 6 large tins of brand I wanted at £1.58 per tin , so went to local tesco for more and found I was paying only £1.36 per tin, customer behind me mentioned asda price promise , so went to asda nearby and informationassistant said no problem but have to claim online.
at home looked up website and found that you had to buy at least 8 different products before you could claim.
only a small amount , but I hate misleading claims about cashback and price difference promise....[ but read small print ] so last time ever I will shop in asda , they take people for fools as they will still make money.

so you think they're making a fool of you because you didn't adhere to the terms of the offer?
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

As you have two weeks to prepare for your shop, can I suggest that you do a price check online before going? Will stop your moaning afterwards!

Why do you feel that it is necessary to start with "I'm a disabled pensioner"?

I can't see this having any relevance to the situation at all......?

So you went from Asda to Tesco, then back to Asda just to save 22p per tin? You must be getting your Petrol from somewhere different to everybody else then :/

And all this because some woman behind you at the till failed to tell you the full details of the promotion......

Sounds like Asda have had a lucky escape.
  • You could have returned the items to asda and asked for a refund, then gone back to Tesco to buy the entire quantity you needed. If you really thought it was worth it for 22p a tin.

It really is best to try to understand the promotions (and not just rely on other customers telling you, because they get it wrong). Asda's adverts about the price match are pretty clear on the restrictions etc. It sounds like the other customer who suggested you go back to Asda misled you, not Asda - I hardly think it's fair to blame Asda for some other person's ignorance.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

Perhaps so we understand why they were unable to read the terms of the offer? :)

more likely an attempt to gain sympathy where none seems due

    i'm a bit of a cynic though!

I always got the impression from the ads that the asda price promise applies to a household shop not just the odd item so I think they do make it fairly clear and that's why there is a small minimum shop required. I think most supermarkets try to offer competitive prices for their customers but still make money, they wouldn't stay in business long otherwise, it's not a conspiracy!
