STRAY DOGS - Local Council's Obligations
I realise this might seem a daft topic to add to this particular forum, but in a way it's about where our council tax goes, or if it goes, regarding the collection and welfare of stray dogs. Just like other people have found a loophole in the law to make councils responsible for clearing rubbish (Bill Bryson for one), I…

Ticketmaster
I recently bought some concert tickets through Ticketmaster (who I usually avoid as their booking engine is a shambles !). When they arrived, my name and address were printed on the same "blank" as the actual tickets with a highly distinctive, coloured background; through the envelope window it was clear for everyone to…

Amazon Prime delivery (praise for a change!)
I ordered 3 items from Amazon on Saturday afternoon, and they were shown as next day delivery. (Amazon Prime). All 3 items came this morning at 10am, delivered by HDNL. I didn't know that Amazon sent items out over the weekend, but to get an order the 1st working day after a weekend is exceptionally good.

beware if ordering from EasyLife Group
My OH saw something she wanted in the EasyLife Group catalogue stuck inside the TV Times so I ordered it for her on line. Everything went as expected until there was a little pop up saying I could claim £10 off my next purchase. So I started to fill in the details and it asked for my credit card details again, which I had…

Another PC World complaint
Hello all, I just need to get this off my chest. 3rd of May I bought a HP netbook, printer and mouse online at PC World decided to pay the £10 delivery slot for 09/05/11 between 08:30 and 10:30. I noticed on the 5th May PC World took my money from the account for payment of the goods. Unfortunately at 10:30 today still no…

Buying from Next online - not possible without a credit search?!
My OH went to buy a pair of jeans last night at Next online (https://www.next.co.uk). The jeans costs £30.99. When she got the checkout part the first stumbling block was that the site required her to register before she could buy; fine, no problem, but not best practice for an e-tailer anyhow. However, just as she was…

Warning: O Spa from Lastminute.com
Hi all, Purchased an O Spa voucher via lastminute.com in October last year as a birthday treat to myself. Took ages to get through to them but got an appointment for May 11 (yes, it's a bit nuts but hey, it's a bargain). Got an email today (May 9) that the appointment has been cancelled and I am fuming mad as have had to…

Apple wont deliver to the Isle of Wight
Okay guys so this wont affect 99% of you but this does beggar belief... I want to order some items from the Apple store (not exactly the smallest company in the world!) They will not deliver to the Isle of Wight. Yes we are part of England. There are not any extra postage charges to get items here via the Post Office and…

Sorry seems to be the hardest word.
Why do people in customer service positions so rarely say sorry? Is it just me failing to register when they do? Sure there are situations when the problem is down to the customer failing to understand something simple that it was reasonable to expect the average layman to get. I've done that, and if you're honest, you've…

Delivery charges!
I have been dying to try Nails Inc nail polish for a long while now so when it was on the cover of a mag this week I snaffled one up. Tried the polish, was very impressed and thought I'd treat myself to some from their website. Living in NI for the last 7 years I've learnt to check delivery charges before going all the way…

Camping and Leisure World Praise
We set out to buy a new tent on Saturday and found one on the internet for a very reasonable price with free next day delivery. We wanted to look at it first though so found a local stockist, Camping and Leisure World in Frensham. We had a good look at it, and decided to buy it although it was £100 more expensive at the…

does "from concentrate" mean "diluted"??
On a regular basis, I see drinks cropping up with the label "from concentrate". Typically you see it on fruit juice cartons, but I've also seen it on a few other types of packaging. My gripe here is Tesco fruit juice. I haven't compared other brands in this regard. For a while, I kept buying Tesco juice cartons which are…

They are an online shirt retailer and have a 'Spring Sale' with all shirts priced at £14.99. I registered and tried to purchase some shirts, but the…

Which? magazine replacing my washer
Yes, the title is accurate in a way. A brief history. I read in the paper and on the internet that Candy washing machines have started exploding for no apparent reason. Which? magazine was heading a study on the subject. So I sent them an email about my Candy Washer-Dryer that keeps breaking down every couple of months.…
