It is on the news that in some areas of the country they are finding Processionary Caterpillars, hairy things following each other in close formation .Used to be mainly Spain but over here now . DO NOT LET DOGS NEAR THEM. dogs being what they are will snaffle some up and the dog will DIE A PAINFUL DEATH. I have seen our friends dog go this way in Spain . Please warn anyone who you feel may have dogs that could be at risk , these terrible caterpillars are most likely found in the vicinity of pine trees which they frequent. And the risk will be for the next few weeks at least. Cats can also be at risk.

I brought something like this into our caravan on holiday one year, as an enthusiastic youngster, I was thrilled as I opened my hands and presented it to my mother, less thrilled when it shot its hairs in my face. Ill never forget that summer, and Ill never ever pick up a "tache caterpillar" again, not sure it was the same breed as i dont recall the yellowing, just a big black hairy caterpillar, but it was incredibly uncomfortable.
