Santander Beyond Help !
I haven't used the vent Forum before, usually trying to resolve problems with an organisation directly and with a view to helping others in the future. Energy and Finance being my background, I have good knowledge of systems and procedures. However, I haven't ever come across an organisation beset by so much…

Am I alone in thinking that more people are asking impertinent, private questions?
Two examples from yesterday alone! A garage phoned. 'Would you please telephone us back to let us know the mileage on your car'. I asked why we would do that. 'Because we like to keep a record'. On further questioning, the guy said the car was last there in 2009. So I don’t think it’s their concern, so I asked again.…

Britishbouquets.co.uk - WARNING!
I wanted to send something different to my Auntie for her birthday and admittedly left it a little late (ordering Friday 8am for delivery Saturday). However I've used websites in the past and I have always had next day delivery. I ordered a fruit hamper from britishbouquets.co.uk for my Auntie and paid for before 1pm next…

Warning about Very Promotional Codes
Following an email I received from Very, I placed an order worth over £60 in order to receive a £30 credit to my account. I have been in touch to ask when I should have the credit applied to my account and they have requested proof that I was targetted in the first place. I received the code and placed the order on the…

VENT: Lord Sugar - Easy to start a business
This post refers to The Apprentice and Lord Sugar who is moaning that it's easy to start a business. http://www.businesszone.co.uk/topic/business-trends/lord-sugar-apprentice-shake-will-show-its-easy-start-business/34747 Personally I think this is rubbish and it annoys me that he is saying stuff like this. Take the first…

GP Under Investigation - Patients Not Aware
Was just wondering what other peoples views are on this issue. I was shocked to read in my local paper that my GP is under investigation by the GMC. Surely as patients are we not entitled to be aware of such issues. To summarise the issues: GP has refused to accept a formal warning fom the GMC following an outcome of the…

Question Time to come from Wormwood Scrubs
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13371144 I wonder, has it ever come from an old people's home? Why does this country seem to care more about prisoners than pensioners?

Supermarket cashiers pocketing notes
Just a heads up, whenever you use notes and expect a large amount of change, make sure you check you get the right amount. I find every so often they enter different note amount you gave them on their till, and give you the wrong change. Then pocket the £5 or £10 for themselves.

Neighbour hell! Advice please!
Hi people Looking for some advice. I am currently in a property I bought about 8 years ago with a deposit from a key worker scheme. Basically it was a good deal - they gave me the deposit money and I only need to repay it when I sell. Have been happy in the home for most of the 8 years but recent tenants in the property…

Praise for Virgin Media
Yesterday afternoon I went to put the tv on and there was no power to our V+ box. I checked all the wires but couldn't get it working so gave them a call to explain that the box was knackered. They said they would log a call with an engineer and get one sent out to us. 9.30 this morning a cheery Virgin Media engineer…

omg!! how long does it take?
So just applied for a £200 overdraft over the phone with HSBC and apparently my credit report shows 'poor'. Now this is crap - I haven't defaulted for two years and I've been increasing my credit card repayments every month. Last month I took out a short-term loan with Wonga and repayed it in full on time. What more do…

UK2.net Autorenewal
I had a reseller account with UK2.net which I opened on 17th May last year and paid the full amount of approx. £311 up front. What I did not know was that this was setup on an auto-renewal which was my responsibility to login to my account and switch off. Anyway, today, 7 days before the end of the current contract, I had…

UK2.net - A warning (even if you've used them in the past!)
I registered a hosting account with UK2.net in April 2010 for £44 for a year. I never actually got round to using the account, so phoned up and requested that it be cancelled at the next billing date (April 2011). I was assured this wouldn't be a problem and was told that I would receive an email when it comes up for…

Smile Science - teeth-whitening booth in Westfield
Yesterday Groupon were doing vouchers for this company in Westfield. It immediately reminded me of this thread here forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=1991115 i.e. a company called a Smile Xpress who ended up being complete cowboys. And they too had a booth in Westfield, just like this new company called Smile…
