Another PC World complaint

Options
Hello all, I just need to get this off my chest.

3rd of May I bought a HP netbook, printer and mouse online at PC World decided to pay the £10 delivery slot for 09/05/11 between 08:30 and 10:30. I noticed on the 5th May PC World took my money from the account for payment of the goods. Unfortunately at 10:30 today still no delivery so I call their 0844 561 0000 and was told that they don't have the item in stock, I didn't receive an email or phone call to let me know about this and I got a measly apology so I asked 'Francis' what do I do next, she said I could cancel the order and I will receive my funds back within 5 working days. So I canceled and started shopping for the same items elsewhere, luckily I found that John Lewis stocked the said items so I placed order and they will be delivered tomorrow morning.

Just half hour ago I received a telephone from PC World head office saying that the items will be delivered and I cannot cancel the order, I asked her why she couldn't give me this information this morning before I placed order with another company costing me yet more money, she didn't have an answer, I asked her to phone the distribution centre to cancel but she said that's impossible I will just have to wait for delivery and refuse it so then it will get sent back to the warehouse and then the cancellation process can begin. I haven't yet received an email to when I will receive delivery but all this is costing me more money and all I get is some lame apology. I asked to why I don't receive a proper apology and she said PC World doesn't send out apology emails or letters. Great!

I would however appreciate any advise from anybody here on how to deal with this, I feel totally let down and I don't have that sort of money lying around for two orders.

Thanks for reading,

Helen
