Which? magazine replacing my washer

Yes, the title is accurate in a way.
A brief history.
I read in the paper and on the internet that Candy washing machines have started exploding for no apparent reason.
Which? magazine was heading a study on the subject. So I sent them an email about my Candy Washer-Dryer that keeps breaking down every couple of months. Even now it's got a fault. Candy wouldn't replace the machine. They'd only keep patching it up.
Which? magazine got in touch with me and we bounced a few emails back and forth with information. The they asked if they could pass my details onto Candy for further study.
After agreeing, next thing I knew, I got a phone call from Candy. The lady had reviewed my correspondence with Which?, and checked my repair history. She got in touch with my insurance providers which is Domestic & General. They came to an agreement. Give me a replacement.
So now I've been offered a choice of 3 machines.
Hoover Model VHW656D Hoover Model WDYNS654d Candy Model GO4W464I really would like a Hotpoint.
However, I decided to look for reviews on the above. I only look for Customer reviews as I've found that some other types of reviews a typically rigged.
The results I found was that the Candy GO4W464 starts destroying clothes after a while. The Hoover WDYNS654d keeps breaking down. This leaves the Hoover VHW656D which is the lesser of the 3 evils. Out of all the reviews, this one had less complaints.
So I'll accept the Hoover VHW656D as a replacement and see how it goes. All being well, this should save me money in buying a new machine. However, if this new one dies far too often, then I'll just sod it, and scrap it. I'll buy a new one. Shame Miele machines cost over a grand.
So all in all, to get Candy's keester into gear and do what they should have done ages ago, is to pass your story onto a premium magazine. It's like telling your story to the newspapers to get authorities to do what they should do automatically.

My washer died a death 2 weeks ago after 14 years. After mourning it for a while (because they just dont make washers that last like that anymore!) I set about my research. In the end I went for a Direct Drive LG for the simple reason I couldnt find a bad review on the model I chose anywhere. I'm happy with it, but I never realised what a minefield it is finding a decent washing machine!0

You mention Miele.
They truly are the best.
IIRC you can get them cheaper than a grand [£500??] but those models don't have the 10 yr warranty.
We bought one 5 yrs ago...never had a single problem [and it gets some hammer].Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Tell me about it. It's too darn hard to find a washer that doesn't have a single bad review.0
