Apple wont deliver to the Isle of Wight

Okay guys so this wont affect 99% of you but this does beggar belief...
I want to order some items from the Apple store (not exactly the smallest company in the world!)
They will not deliver to the Isle of Wight. Yes we are part of England. There are not any extra postage charges to get items here via the Post Office and unfortunately we have the same taxes as everyone else. We are in effect the same as Anglesey and the Isle of Sheppey but we dont have a bridge!!!!!
Yes I have complained to Apple but no joy. Helpfully (not) they do deliver to Ireland, Isle of man and just about everywhere else in the world, except the Isle of Wight....oh and the Channel Islands....rant over ...for now:mad:

That's because their products are designed for people with five fingers on each hand, not six. Sorry.

I thought that was the Isle of Man.

I just checked and it's in the T&C's.
6.1Orders will not be accepted and products will not be delivered to any address outside the mainland United Kingdom, Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man. Orders and deliveries will not be possible for residents in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Wight.

This seems very strange, does anyone know the actual reason they won't deliver to IoW? as they deliver to any mainland UK address, even John O'Groats.

I don't have an answer for the OP, but I do share their annoyance. Living in Northern Ireland, it bugs me when some companies state they use Royal Mail, but still insist on charging extra to ship their products over here. I can understand some couriers charging extra, but RM delivers to anywhere in the UK for the same price. I put these extra charges down to either their geographical ignorance, or sheer greed; either way, I give my business to companies who treat the whole of the UK the same when it comes to postal charges.

As for the OP, what are you trying to buy? I bought an iPod last year from Amazon, and not only was it about £25 than buying from Apple, I also got Nectar points for it. It may be worthwhile checking to see if you can get it from Amazon ...

Even John O'Groats? That's the mainland though what does John O'Groats have to do with anything? :)

How bizarre. Perhaps, being yanks, they're a bit confused about UK geography and think the IoW's outside the UK (like the Channel Islands). Ignorami. It might be like the 50s there but it's still the UK!

The wording is a little off but the intent seems pretty clear with regards to not delivering to locations other than the mainland UK.
