Even John O'Groats? That's the mainland though what does John O'Groats have to do with anything? :)

John O'Groats itself isn't relevant other than it's in the Highlands and an area that couriers normally charge more to deliver to. I could have said Fresgoe but I suspect less people would know where it was.

Perhaps it's the shipping costs. Have you seen the price of the ferry to the IoW??

    Is that in Scotlandshire? ;)

Thanks for your comments (even those who doubt my biological make up)....I agree that the T&Cs are clear but my gripe is what is the difference between the Isle of Man and the IOW (okay except for the size , location etc....). I did manage to get through to an American who was on their helpline actually speaking from the good old USof A. It took me 5 mins to explain what an Isle was!!!!
    Hey ho....

I'm not exactly sure what point you're trying to make unfortunately.

These companies state that they are willing to deliver anywhere in the mainland UK but not offshore, yet for some reason you keep naming places that are mainland UK and saying 'why will they deliver here but not to the Isle of Wight'.

I'm a bit unclear why delivering to John O'Groats is even relevant since it's a mainland address.

As I asked earlier, have you checked to see if you can get it cheaper on Amazon?

What was their reason? I'm curious to know too. Perhaps it's that they've not yet got to grips with VHS yet on the IoW (it's still the 50s you know!) so anything digital is just gonna confuse people...

redped....sorry for ignoring your advice.....yes I have checked Amazon but at the moment they do not have any stock of Ipad2s....I know that Apple quote a delay of 1-2 weeks but I was also considering getting a 1st generation refurbished model from Apple.....but they are only available ......online for home delivery.....could be Argos now as they seem to have some in stock but wont confirm delivery dates until I have paid....perhaps I ought to do some proper work....

The point being that many companies don't deliver to places in the north of Scotland because of the cost. Since Apple appear to deliver to such places, it seems cost of delivery is not the reason they refuse to deliver to the Isle of Wight.
