Ticketmaster

I recently bought some concert tickets through Ticketmaster (who I usually avoid as their booking engine is a shambles !).
When they arrived, my name and address were printed on the same "blank" as the actual tickets with a highly distinctive, coloured background; through the envelope window it was clear for everyone to see that the envelope contained tickets of some sort - even down to the hologram sticker being visible.
I note that other ticket suppliers (Ticket Factory, Sheffield Arena) use a plain background on their tickets.
Would I be getting a bit cynical to comment that Ticketmaster now advertise quite prominently, "Ticket Insurance" (at extra cost, of course), as you plod through their booking system ?!?!!

You would be very cynical to suggest that given a few things. I have in the past booked more than a few tickets, the last 2 lots that i've recieved (a pair for the theater & a concert) have been dark greeny/blue so it's pretty obvious what they are, neither of them come from Ticketb*stard. Looking at the multitude i've got they've had prominent dark patches for years and have always used a "blank" to print your name & address on it - when it comes to major events (for example Bon Jovi) exactly the same thing, although you can actually see what event it's for, i'd suggest this might be the same as say Take That etc.
I don't think there's anything to it, i just think they're now prominently advertising ticket insurance (which has always been offered) in order to A - heighten awareness and B - cover their own backside having seen many insurance dealios being caught out for being less than obvious. If you want to gripe about something, ask yourself why they feel the need to charge £5-6 for a "booking fee" then a further £5 for postage - THAT'S why they're called Ticketb*stard!!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -

I already have .......... for my tickets a "Service Charge" of £13.50, PLUS £3.25 "Processing Fee" !!0 -
Were they send 2nd class?
I've always loved the way Ticketmaster charge the same amount for e-tickets as they do for tickets-in-the-post.0 -
Different company, but I just received some tickets to a concert next week, sent second class and in a bog standard envelope from See. I thought we paid the outrageous charges so they would be guaranteed to get here safely? The amount of tickets I have had go walkies in the post is getting silly now.0

I ordered from Ticketmaster a few weeks back. When my tickets arrived there was a seperate piece of paper slipped in behind the envelope window. That carried my name and address and the tickets themselves were obscured by it. No-one would have known what was inside.
I saw the info regarding insurance and was considering paying it but wasn't given the option to do so. After the bad reviews I'd read I was half expecting to receive no tickets at all but thankfully all was ok.0 -
What does this 'ticket insurance' cover? If you order tickets from somewhere and they get lost in the post, the company's obliged to refund you or replace your tickets. You don't need to pay insurance for this - them's just the rules. Money for old rope. Tsk tsk."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
