Freeze Cabbage
This might sound like a silly question - but can you freeze cabbage? The portions that you get from the supermarket or the local indian market for a single household are too large. Frozen cabbage curry is not good either - hence the reason for asking. Thanks in advance SIL

How do you hang net curtains correct?
I heard somewhere before, maybe here that they only go one way round or when a light is turned on it works the opposite and makes the people visible. With that in mind how do you know?

Eco-friendly kitchen scourer?
I notice that some that claim to be made of natural products or, at least, recycled plastic are now available. https://andkeep.com/collections/household-brushes/products/loofco-washing-up-pad-single?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=googlepla&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIj-nA4tzW4AIVSbTtCh3yYQ8AEAQYASABEgJt0fD_BwE…

Money supermarket £25 credit
Hi I have checked my current account and money supermarket appear to have credited my account with £25 - this is lovely but I'm not sure why. I may have used them as a comparison site when deciding on home insurance but that's all. Can anyone solve the mystery?

Weekly Flylady Thread 25th February 2019
Welcome to the Weekly Flylady Thread What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole…

Meal plan WC 25/02/19
Hi it's been a while since I've seen a meal plan thread so thought I'd begin one. If there is an existing one please merge this one. I'm trying to eat smart, have less waste and eat what we have in so I can run the little freezer down as it badly needs defrosting! Breakfasts are cereal/yogurt or toast & kids take a piece…

Rotary airer or washing line?
We finally have a garden and as sad as it sounds, I'm very excited about drying clothes outside instead of using the airer indoors. Currently there's a retractable line in the garden, but I had assumed I'd get a rotary airer. Is there any real benefit in one over the other? Was gutted I couldn't hang any washing out today…

Stardrops or Wilko White Vinegar Spray
I am wondering about using this for cleaning. I use Flash now but I have read about these white vinegar sprays being better as well as cheaper. I could also use it to clean the windows. Or is an antibac spray and separate window cleaner better?

Change Microwave times to fan oven?
I have a sweet recipe that is for the microwave. Unfortunately our microwave has stopped working. The only instructions say cover dish, microwave for two mins, turn and microwave for two mins. None of the ingredients require cooking only really heating. It's a long time since we have made it and part of it is crushed…

Fresh fish and chicken
The main meals I like are fish and chicken, preferably fresh. I buy chicken breasts and cod fillets. However, it does work out expensive to have fresh fish and chicken most nights, I don't like any other meats, apart from mince. I have been thinking about breaded fish and chicken which is cheaper but is this as healthy? I…

Dead easy dusting/wiping
I can't take full credit for this, I read it somewhere. I now use this method to go round the house cleaning more or less everything, even my french doors and mirrors. All you need is a few clean microfibre cloths and a bottle of Mr Muscle window cleaner.....yes even for paintwork. The old way I would clean mirrors for…
