I heard somewhere before, maybe here that they only go one way round or when a light is turned on it works the opposite and makes the people visible.
With that in mind how do you know?

when it is dark outside and the light is on inside then people can see in . Thats why you need regular curtains to draw as well. Apart from keeping heat in.Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20

It's also why bedroom ceiling light fittings tend to be near the window - so that you don't show up in silhouette in the windows0 -
Nets always come across as old fashioned and I can't pretend I'm a fan but we always use them on renovation projects to keep prying eyes from seeing our stuff. Even on French / patio doors we stick one up.
Probably one of the cheapest security measures you can take, although privacy is the intended function I guess.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -
I'm not a fan so I use voiles rather than nets, but I'd rather have something up, however old fashioned that everyone walking down my busy street peering in. And it's easier than faffing around with blinds (dust magnets) and shutters (expensive.)All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
