How do you hang net curtains correct?

I heard somewhere before, maybe here that they only go one way round or when a light is turned on it works the opposite and makes the people visible.

With that in mind how do you know?

    That's blinds, not nets.

  • when it is dark outside and the light is on inside then people can see in . Thats why you need regular curtains to draw as well. Apart from keeping heat in.

Ah thanks for that, I was just asking as had some plain nets for bedroom as well as side door so didn't want to have people seeing in.

It's also why bedroom ceiling light fittings tend to be near the window - so that you don't show up in silhouette in the windows

Nets always come across as old fashioned and I can't pretend I'm a fan but we always use them on renovation projects to keep prying eyes from seeing our stuff. Even on French / patio doors we stick one up.

Probably one of the cheapest security measures you can take, although privacy is the intended function I guess.

I'm not a fan so I use voiles rather than nets, but I'd rather have something up, however old fashioned that everyone walking down my busy street peering in. And it's easier than faffing around with blinds (dust magnets) and shutters (expensive.)
