Hygiene - Cold wash, No bleach bedding
Hi guys, I've just picked up some cheap Egyptian cotton bedding from Argos. It was cheap so if I destroy it it isn't the end of the world, and I'm not expecting it to be super good quality. I should also point out I'm not hugely paranoid about germs. However, I was surprised that the washing instructions say to cold wash…

Wax on vinyl floor
My daughter lit some purple tea lights in the bathroom. When she blew them out , one splashed on the floor. There are now three big pinky marks on the vinyl. I've tried bleach, scoring powder, steam and scratching with a pin so far, no use. It's not like there is a blob of wax I can pick off, more that the colouring seems…

Very tarnished fireplace surround
Hi, I think it's brushed steel. Anyhow, I wiped it down with some wipes that worked really well. But, never again. It's become very tarnished. I've tried using the same wipes again and they got some of it off but only a bit ( I rinsed thoroughly this time!). The wipes were citrus based so I guess a bit acidic. Does anyone…

Tarnished silver bracelet
I have a one year old Links silver bracelet that all of a sudden has gone very brown and tarnished. :( I'm looking at ways of bringing it back to life but not sure if any will work, and also it's a stretchy bracelet so I'm worried that anything I try may damage the elastic. Does anyone have any tips on what I might be able…

Any ideas for a protector/cover (anti-bird!) for foil tops of glass milk bottles?!
Hi! Am looking for a protector/cover for the foil top of a milk bottle - an anti-bird device that I can leave out on the doorstep for the milkman to use! As over the past few weeks the milkman's stock of plastic bottles with plastic lids has been replaced by the older style of glass bottles with foil tops/lids. And the…

Christening buffet - limited time
My daughter will be christened in Sept and we are hiring the church hall next door after. We will have 60-80 people coming and think we will do the food ourselves. Thing is I don't want to run around like crazy prepping food in the morning. Any ideas for a easy to prep buffet?
