I've got some old (but nice!) stainless steel cutlery which is quite tarnished. Is there anything I can use (not some expensive chemical) to get rid of it?
TIA

Place a fresh piece of aluminium foil in a deep rectangular dish. Add undiluted vinegar to the dish, and soak the stainless steel cutlery for 10 minutes. Once complete, remove and wipe it down with a cotton tea towel. Rinse under hot water to remove excess vinegar and dry every piece completely to avoid water spots.“And all shall be well. Thank you! I'll give that a try now0 -
If that doesn't work, get some aluminium foil, dip it in brine and polish the cutlery with it.But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

There is another way. Place a sheet of aluminium foil in the bottom of your washing up bowl. Add a generous amount of soda crystals , place the cutlery in and then add boiling water. When the water stops fizzing, take the cutlery out, rinse it and buff it up. Voila!0
