Black Friday and Price Promises
I'm thinking probably not. My mate is thinking of buying a TV from Currys BUT suppose He buys the TV from them a day or two before Black Friday and that product is significantly reduced on BF would he be able to claim the difference. He's looking at a particular TV and He is going to buy anyway but I'm wondering what the…

Some help with my food stash
Hi everyone, due to a couple of reasons (redundancy and my freezer needing defrosting) I'm trying to use up my food stocks. I've got some ideas as to what to cook but I need help with some of it. I'm not a baker at all and I have to follow a gluten free diet for medical reasons. Here are the bits I have that I'm stuck with…

Irons
To start with, I hate ironing and only iron clothing that really needs it like cotton shirts. However I enjoy sewing and use the iron a lot to press seams etc. On to the problem. My iron has stopped working (due to DH leaving it plugged in and turned on overnight !!!!! ), I'm not sorry, I hated it ! It leaked water…

A run round the table and a bite at the door
That's what my nan always used to say if you asked 'What's for dinner?' Given I'm dying at the moment *cough, cough* I can't sleep as my everything hurts. I'm nostalgic for the food my grandmother used to cook, and I was thinking about the time I managed to pry the recipe for her amazing Irish stew from her - Given she was…

Homemade gravy.
Tried to make homemade gravy but it didn't come out very brown. The problem being that i have been diagnosed with wheat and dairy allergy and all stock cubes seem to have these ingredients in. The ready made gluten free gravy was foul. If anyone has any ideas i would be grateful.

Do you throw out old bottles of Booze ?
Found an unopened bottle of Malibu Rum in the garage, knew I'd had it donkeys years.....been wondering whether to drink it or not. There was no visible date on it, so I opened it, under the cap the date 05/08/05, tasted it and it was as good as new. Had some last night and no bad effects, so now drinking some more. There…

Shopping too much?
I've been loitering around these pages for the past few days, after loosing my job and a mix up with benefits i've had no money for nearly a month. We had a little in savings that i was going to dip into to buy food, once what we had, had ran out but weeks later and I still have food! Normally by now I would have done a…

What is this piece of material called please?
The bit on the end, that, I guess, keeps all the stuffing from coming out. Thanks. http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_GB/img/site_images/seo/bathroom_mat_seo.jpg http://umbur.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/black-bathroom-rugs-bxk8nocjl.jpg

Cleaning a mega-sized shower - again
Well - I've duly got it sorted as to how to clean the floor of this massive shower cubicle (courtesy of a previous thread of mine - from which I bought myself the rubber broom recommended by a poster). So that's that aspect dealt with. Now I'm wondering about the grout and sealant for said shower. There is a vastly reduced…

Vegetarian Christmas
This will be my first Christmas where I won't be eating meat so I wanted to make something special for the main meal itself and was wondering what others will be having instead of the traditional turkey. Are there any particular favourites you wouldn't mind sharing? :)

I have so much stuff in the loft/attic. Have you, and when will I get rid?
Hi all, Just cleared out the garage. Oh my word the things I found out there! OH has just put good things from the garage into the loft. He said there is so much stuff up here already, what the H is it all? I don't know! Did you ever go up there and find out? Some day I will, but out of sight is out of mind. LOL. I think…

Just curious...
Why is it that there aren't any bread machines that have a decent rectangular pan rather than the squatty, near square ones? Something that resembles the size of my bread tins? The loaves that come out of bread machines - regardless of the loaf's weight - look more the size of 400g-ish loaves instead of a larger (longer)…

Washing machine that has a quick wash that takes 15 - 30 mins?
I wonder if you can help? My washing machine has finally ended its long career of 8 years originally costing £300 so I feel it has been very good value. Averaging one wash every two days! So I am now on the hunt for another washing machine. The only gripe I had with my previous machine was it took forever to wash. So does…
