Just wondering what they might be. I've just grabbed/squished/thrown down loo another one and its several times I've found one of them in my home recently. Its a worm of some description, about half inch long, fairly thick, looks like a squiggle when I see it up on a ceiling or dangling by thin invisible thread from…

Costa Coffee savings
I am regular Costa Coffee customer. I will get one coffee and one cake or something every Saturday and Sunday. Which makes a £5 x 9 = £45 per month. It's is a huge amount. Is there a way to minimize it? I collect points with their card, but they always tell me that I don't have enough points. Is there a good offer?

Potatoe gleaning
So today one of our farmers harvested his potatoes and this evening we "picked up the leftovers" about 20kg until darkness overcame us. We know they will be ploughed in within the next few days. Would you do the same? Is it theft ? Or being sensible?

Microsoft XBOX / XBOX 360 2 month refunds
If your child has a Microsoft xbox (360) account then you can reclaim the last 2 months of payments. This only works in some circumstances such as mine (below) - but I suspect these circumstances to be fairly common. My son created his xbox account without me knowing and used his debit card as the payment mechanism. He lied…

Coping with a small kitchen
Morning all! We have moved into our new house at last and I am gradually putting things away and organising the place. However, the kitchen is a lot smaller than my old one and even though I de-cluttered my stuff, my cupboards are almost full and I still have about four large boxes of stuff to find homes for. There is no…

Is frugal the new normal?
When I started on my frugal lifestyle, for necessity (DH made redundant, toddler twins, recession), people I knew pitied and admired our lifestyle -admired in a pitying way I mean, because they knew of our impoverished predicament. When I kept living in a frugal way after DH got back into work, the twins grew up and we…
