I am regular Costa Coffee customer. I will get one coffee and one cake or something every Saturday and Sunday. Which makes a £5 x 9 = £45 per month. It's is a huge amount. Is there a way to minimize it? I collect points with their card, but they always tell me that I don't have enough points. Is there a good offer?

WOW!!! That is a lot of money. I have not seen or heard of any offers, sorry. But, maybe you could just have a Costa drink and cake on either of the weekend days but not both. That would cut your spend down by half. Then you could just call it your weekend treat and not spend so much on it!!
To be honest I would have thought that if you purchased from there that often and spent as much as you do I am sure you would certainly see your points mount up nicely. Or maybe their rewards scheme is very mean.
Maybe others will help be able to help you out with some voucher/discount news.

Costa lot coffee.
If its something you enjoy doing and can afford it and it's something you want to continue to do then carry on.0 -
I am thinking to get a slice of cake from elsewhere and get a small coffee at costa only. Do greggs have cake?0

Can you bake? If you get a recipe it's really not that tricky. As for coffee, I haven't found a coffee shop to beat brewing my own using Pact coffee ( https://www.pact.co.uk) I am nothing to do with them. Was introduced last year. I think you can get your first one for £1 including delivery. It's not cheap but I can get about 20-25 cups out of a bag for £6.95 delivered and you can choose from a range. Best of all its ethically sourced ( more details in website) as they work with small, independent growers. Just an idea. Bet you could do your weekend pleasure for less than £10 a month!

some of the big coffee chains offer discount if you take your own travel mug.
Are there local coffee houses who offer better value for money?
Could you forgo the cake, or have it less frequently? Or how about downgrading it to the wafer biscuits or biscotti type treats by the till - at £1 a pop these work out significantly cheaper than many of their cakes.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

To put things into persepective, your £45 per month spend on coffee & cake would almost pay for your £600 pa car insurance.
But then again, I've never been a fan of over-priced coffee shops.0 -
What's the reason for going there every Saturday and Sunday? I'm guessing since you order cake, you're sitting in to eat rather than this is 'food on the move'?
Are you meeting someone, sitting in there for a specific reason or haven't got anything else you could be doing?
Just asking because some suggestions will work better than others if we know why it's become a weekend habit.0 -
Buy a tassimo machine for around £50 and pods cost around £4 for 16 pods. This is as nice as the real the real thing. Don't buy cake, have you heard about the diabetes epidemic plaguing our country?

Firstly dump Costa, nasty "coffee".
Take your own cake etc. I've seen lots of people doing it and as long as your a bit discreet and do buy a coffee then coffee shop's tends to look the other way.
Coffee prices are pretty standard now so go to an independent or if you want a loyalty scheme then I know its much maligned but Starbucks is pretty much the best in the business. A free what ever you want drink after.... I get it after 12 drinks but I believe its 15 for everyone else. You get free shots, cream, syrups etc (ALL chargeable at Costa) Also if you take your own mug/cup then you get 25 pence off (sod all from Costa). Filter coffee gets you a free refill (Chargeable at Costa)
To show you want a complete RIP-OFF Costa's "loyalty" card is. You get 5 points for every FULL £1 spent so if you spend £1.95 you only get 5 points which is worth a pathetic 5 pence. So, if you wanted a free drink worth £4 at Costa you'd need to buy 80 say small latte's at a cost of £156 to get a free £4 drink at Starbucks you'd only need to spend £26.25 to get a free £4 drink if you took in your own cup.
Why on Gods earth would anyone want to take Costa coffee home when you can get much much better coffee at a much much cheaper prices eludes me!0 -
Do you have a Waitrose near you. If so you could get a myWaitrose card and get a free coffee (delicious) every time you visit the store from the self service machine. If you wanted cake with it then you could visit the cafe to get a free coffee but you would need to buy the cake.
Just a thought ... xSometimes it just is0
