What's the reason for going there every Saturday and Sunday? I'm guessing since you order cake, you're sitting in to eat rather than this is 'food on the move'?
Are you meeting someone, sitting in there for a specific reason or haven't got anything else you could be doing?
Just asking because some suggestions will work better than others if we know why it's become a weekend habit.
I regularly go to costa as there is a handy one just down the road from where I live but I have never eaten anything there and normally just get an americano for £2.20 (or £2.40 if it's the paradise blend). I usually browse the web on my phone while I sip my coffee. I can't see any reason to have a coffee "to go" as it comes in a nasty paper cup and if it was to take back to the office I'd just make a fresh cup of cafetiere coffee to drink at my desk.
I normally get a "free" cup every 3 months or so (every 22nd cup is "free") as I have the costa app on my phone.0 -
I have never been in a coffee shop either Costa or the opposition . I make my own coffee and bake my own cakes and have loads of friends who pop in at coffee time. Have recently acquired a coffee perculator from the 60s ( a friend was throwing it out as she couldn't be bothered with it) - now that is real coffee. If you make your own coffee then you get to visit shops who roast and grind their own beans and I inhale .:rotfl:0

Excuse me, why do I have to pay £2 for a small coffee to drink in? It makes no difference to me that it's served in glass cup. It would be better to have it in a paper cup which is more hygienic.0

The actual product you drink probably only costs a few pence - the reason it's more expensive is the cost of the rent, rates (very expensive in a prime town centre location!) the staffing, insurance, heating, power, fitting out costs etc0 -
Costa reward scheme:
spending: 1 point=1p
earning: registering the loyalty card online= 100 points
each full £1 spend= 5 points. (So a £1.95 spend gets you 5 points, £2 spend gets you 10 points)
Once signed up for the loyalty card, you get emailed offers that you can sign in to, generally double points for x visits between certain dates.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
