I want to pick nettles now but all the websites say no!
Hi all. I've started drinking green smoothies in an attempt to get healthy. I have read that dandelions and nettle are brilliant in smoothies and of course they are free! I've read its fine to pick dandelion at any time of year so thats great but everywhere seems to say only pick nettle up until around June when the…

I was thinking of doing a kind of compote with a ginger syrup (have some ginger in a jar in the fridge). Anyone got any other suggestions though? Preferably not a crumble as i'm a bit crumbled out from a glut of blackberries…

Flower pot heaters
The flower pot heaters that I have seen on YouTube either have one pot with the hole covered by foil, a coin etc, or a metal bolt with nuts, washers on etc. Does anyone think this idea would be ok or would the inner pot get too hot? https://twitter.com/redhillmum/status/507458956323995650/photo/1 I know these may not give…

Help me OSers!! Washing crisis!!
Hello Old Stylers. I'm really hoping you guys can help. For the past couple of washes, I've noticed some orangey brown marks on the clothes after they've come out of the machine - it's very prominent on white washing but I'm guessing it's not restricted to that. I've tried:* Running a cleaning cycle in the washing machine…

freezing question
I wanted to freeze these and was surprised to find the packs advise 'do not freeze', would you risk it? Do you think the chicken has been previously frozen? I don't want to get ill obviously but would rather not waste food if I don't have to (as if I don't eat relatively soon, best before date being today, or freeze, will…

Getting bubble gum off a car seat - any tips please?
Spotted this morning that one of the kids (they're not confessing to this one lol) has managed to smear a bit of bubblegum/chewing gum on our car seat. It's in a really awkward place - in a seam on the seat - so very hard to get off. Does anyone know of anything that dissolves this type of thing safely so that it can be…

I've got a plum tree & two apple trees in the garden and they're weighed down with fruit, i've been giving it away to friends & neighbours but still got loads. Fruit and vegetable boxes
Hi All, I was wondering if anybody got their fruit and vegetables delivered by any of the box type companies - I was wondering if they work out as good value for money and if the produce is generally good quality.
