This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Usual hi and fly by but will try and pop back later for a catch up with news.
Sold a book on ebay yesterday and am dropping it off at the courier's shop collection point on my way to work. After fees, it's £11.56 for our "freedom fund" so I am delighted. Now I need to do that lots of times!
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day.

Good Morning chums, bright and sunny day ahead by the look of things.Last day of the holidays for the DGS today then they are all back to school again. life will return to normal and I will get back into my routine as well:)
Got all the ironing and washing done yesterday though which was good so a clear week-end ahead hopefully.
Library books needs to be returned today,I got some last Saturday and found that a couple I had read already, so a trip to the local library with the two remaining DGS is on the cards today. They will probably want to have a shufti around as well, thay both enjoy reading which for young teenage boys is unusual, but I am pleased they have got my love of reading at least .
Eldest DGS Ben is collecting all his bits and pieces for Uni at the moment and we may have to make a list of all the stuff he needs.I'm sure I can find him a few bits in my cupboards to help out.
Right time I got a wriggle and the kettle on
have a good day chums what ever you are doing
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -
Morning all
Baby steps, TTFM, good luck.
I'm off to work in a sec, there is washing on the line, not sure if it will dry, it's been dull to start with every day but brightening up around 11ish, so I'll leave it out & hope for the best.
I had a play with my new rotary cutter last night, my living room is now covered in strips & squares, I need to clear up as we have visitors on Saturday.
Hubby's shifts are all over the place again so I'm not sleeping well, hey ho!
Time I made a move.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning :hello:
Wishing TTFTM many sales and lots of profit
Mr tru asked me if I wanted to go for a drive last night, he wanted to go to Fairford to see Air Force One. Errrm no thanks. I put pyjamas on and plonked myself on the sofa instead
I have more jobs to do in the garden so that'll keep me busy today. The littlies are still living in our shed at the moment so I can't put things away properly. They'll be moving into the hen house for grown-ups in the next few days so I can tidy it properly soonOff to Morrison's later, we're running out of cleaning stuff and toiletries so I'll stock up on those then I can have a few weeks of smaller shops just for fresh food.

Morning all,
Very foggy here this morning, hope fully will clear later.
We both had our bloods done yesterday, and there was a little girl there, must have been 5, in a new school uniform, she looked so happy going into the cubicle with her Mum, and then we heard her cry. Poor little thing cried pitifully and it really upset me. They were really kind to her though, and by the time she left she was smiling again.
DD saw her surgeon and had x rays again, there is some healing AGAIN on the bone but it hasn't healed completely the saga continues. We arrived at the hospital at 9.45, it took us about 15 mins to find a parking space\, and left the hospital at 1.15, it is really tiring doing nothing:). Sitting in the reception of the hospital waiting for DD I would think half the people in the West Midands walk through, it is non stop.
We are popping into town today, must go to the bank, and return a parcel and I must pop into Boots for my hair colour, having it cut on Saturday so must sort the roots out.
MOLLY I know you said your op is this month, I just wanted to wish you luck and hope yu are looking after yourself.
LYN I hope Docky had a comfortable night and hopefully the tabs will start to work soon. Poor boy seems to be having a rough time recently, but he does have his Mummy and Daddy to look after him
Well wishes and hugs to all poorlies, pets as well, and have a good day.

Morning everyone,
Sorry I haven't been on, been really busy!
Went to Buckingham Palace last Saturday!
We went with a coach company, I told them in March that I was takin g my wheelchair, and then a week before we were due to go, I read that wheelchairs had to be booked in. Rang company, they rang the Palace, "Oh sorry they're booked up, you can have a refund or a rollator"
I said I'd have a rollator, when we got there, guess what? Not booked! I was nearly in tears by now, my friend was furious, but Palace staff were fantastic. They got me a wheelchair, and at the end of the visit, took me to an accessible shop. When they didn't have all we wanted they sent down to another shop anda it was delivered!:T Now that's what I call service.
Wrote to the coach company, they have offered me half the cost back, so I've accepted. It could have gone horribly wrong though.:o
Have been out a lot these past weeks, to lunch and coffee with pals. People have visited too, I'm beginning to flag!:rotfl:
Hope everyone is okay? Molly have all your probs cleared up? TTFM Take care.
Have a lovely day, it's glorious in Hastings!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning morning!
Catching up on the bake off before work as I let hubs watch the football last night. Been for my run today and I'm exhausted already!
Not much planned for today aside from work, easy dinner for jacket potato and beans planned and snuggling on the sofa tonight for me I think!
Hope everyone is okay!0 -
Good morning everyone,
ttmf freedom fund is wonderful name. I hope you fill it up quickly.
tru it may have been more interesting actually seeing the president rather than just a plane. I wouldn't have been bothered either. I was lucky to see Barack Obamas arm last year when the g8 was in our town:rotfl: Cameron was also in the car, but I couldn't see him. Putin's convoy nearly drove my friend off the road, she was not impressed. I also seen the French convoy, but they didn't slow down for a wave.
hillstep How awful. I'm glad you got sorted in the end and especially the partial refund.
Today I start in the animal sanctuary. I'm a little nervous. Not sure what hours I'll be doing.
OH has had rediculous early starts 5 and half 5, it'll catch up with him yet. He went off to work on the bike this morning as him and a college are swaping bikes this evening so the college can do a bit off work on oh's bike. I am a bit aprehensive as the bike he's coming home on is the second fastest in the world.
Dinner is in the slow cooker, a beef joint.
I'm getting very paranoid, there's a robin that keeps sitting on my fence staring at me, it's staring at me now. I see it 4 or 5 times a day, just sitting there.
Must get a move on to get dd's off to schoolLBM 04/10:j

Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a beautiful day here this morning, makes you happy to be alive.
There is only me and my DD11 awake so far, DDs 13 and 14 are still tucked up in bed and I probably won't see them until the afternoon. They are going to have such a rude awakening next week when school starts but for now I'll let them sleep.
I need electric again so I will send my youngest to town to get the key charged up. It is a proper nuisance having to go all the way to town for it, our local shop fell out with British Gas for whatever reason and now doesn't do the top-ups. I will have to change suppliers or something before the winter though as this is ridiculous.
I'm planning on blitzing the house today as we didn't get much done yesterday as flaky friend turned up AGAIN! I ignored her phone calls so she just came round and banged on the door. I am so fed up with her, she lives a good 8 miles away and is relying on lifts to come here as her car is not working so that means she is stuck here until the only bus takes her back to her village at 5pm. She knows I rarely go out so I am kind of stuck at the moment. I will just have to be brave and get out of the house....easier said than done though.
Well I need a shower and a cuppa so I will love you and leave you. Hope everyone has a great day whatever they are up to. Take care xx
Oh dear, I've just read back through this and I'm being very moany...sorry, normally I'm a very happy person. I will endeavour to count my blessings and cheer up:o.
