Talk later and everyone have a safe and happy day
    NOT BUYING IT 2018!

Consumerism is.....buying things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't know and probably wouldn't like even if you did know them.

TTFTM the Freedom Fund sounds good - Mr LW's savings account is labelled "Champagne Fund" and mine is "Wolfy's Dragon Fund".:D

We used to have a piggy bank named Bolly as he held just about the right amount in 5ps to buy a bottle of the fizzy stuff for New Year's Eve. I had bought the pig in the 1970s and one day when money was very tight, we realised he was very collectable and we sold him on ebay. Now I buy moneyboxes at car boot sales and they are all over the house, DH keeps trying to stop me getting any more :o

I want to know what you are buying with the "Dragon Fund" ;)

Have just sold something else on ebay so there is a bit more money for the Freedom Fund :D

Quick question (I seem to be getting regular with these haha)
I'm making spag bol tomorrow night for friends and just thought about putting it in the SC to save me having to actual cook while they're visiting (other than pasta/garlic bread). I've got onions and peppers chopped and frozen, could I just bung them in as they are or would I need to defrost first?

Just realised I can't remember if I posted earlier or not, losing my marbles today but I think I did.
If I didn't then hi all, hope you're well and hugs to those feeling poorly or down today or even if you just love a hug!

LW I think I need a dragon fund so I can replace the McD's cheery meal Toothless with a real one!

    Afternoon all,

Very stiff and sore today, went to Aldi this morning and it has knocked me for six, have been resting since we got back, even had a little snooze, feel a bit more humann now.

It is a beautiful day here, 23c even though its overcast, DD4 put clothes on line when she was here yesterday evening, mustnt forget to take them in.

OH cooking dinner at present.....steak, potatoes, mushrooms and whatever other veg he finds in kitchen and fancies cooking. Will have some of delicious blueberry crumble cake friends brought the other day as pudding..

Strange thing about the robin, Cazmcf , was reading somewhere earlier that frequent visits from a robin means that there are bringing messages from a loved one who has moved on into the next world, saying that they are keeping a loving eye on you.....so say hello.

Good smells coming from kitchen so dinner moving on.

Have finally got date for next colonoscopy.....17th.....was going out for lunch with friends that day, but cant get another appointment for a month so will have to take a raincheck on lunch.

Hugs to all, stay safe and well

DISCLAIMER: I don't actually use a slow cooker myself. But, LJ I'd have thought bunging the veggies in frozen would be ok; I think it's just meat you have to be careful with (and I don't cook that at all, so can't help there). No doubt someone will be along soon to tell me I'm talking codswallop.:D

Nothing exciting, I fear - it'll be dipped into to pay my half of the kitchen refit (we're paying half each).:o

SNAFU at work, new chef started on Tuesday & walked out this morning, cue tears & meltdown from remaining staff. Lunch today was served by our senior leadership team, they rolled up there sleeves & got stuck in.
My oldest is 37 today, doesn't time fly!
I went to Aldi on the way home to buy more vodka & sugar, so I'm going to make more jam & liqueur
    in a sec.
    Have a good evening everyone.

i would just bung them in frozen but not at the start. i find frozen bits can go a bit soggy if in too long

Dumpling oh dear, "friend" turning up on the doorstep out of the blue isn't so good; if that was me, I'd pop a coat on before answering the door, and say "oh dear, really sorry but I was just on my way out"; or if you can't face that, how about "I really, really have to <insert nastiest, muckiest, yuckiest household task you can possibly think of> and I MUST get it done today without fail; you're welcome to help me with it, otherwise, sorry, but I can't spare the time".

That made me laugh, thank you, I'm just picturing her face as I hand her a well used toilet brush and ask her to get on with it :rotfl:. I did think about having a coat handy but I know she would want to come with me and to be honest....I wasn't even dressed, slattern that I am :o:o.

    Evening all,

busy day for me today. I am used to having my Grandson overnight. Ive had him overnight about once a month since he was 5 weeks old but his Mummy has gone back to work and today is the first day ive had him 8-6. I'm shattered. He's been miserable and whining a lot. Ive told my daughter if he's no better by Monday to take him to the doctors (or I will if she needs me to). Fingers crossed he makes a good recovery over the weekend.

Hubby has been off work today. He had a hospital appointment this morning with the surgeon who operated on his knee. Unfortunately things haven't gone quite to plan. He's winging his way up North as I type to his next job. He's working the weekend too.

Nowt planned for me tonight, just recuperation.

My onward and forward got up and went.

    Have a good evening all.

  • Iskandmaid hope the folk that go to the Bestival have better luck than my DGS Ben.He went to Reading while we were on the Island, and on the Sunday had his wallet picked from his pocket with his remaining £125.00 in it. Last year they apparently had lockers for the youngsters to put their phones, valubles in etc (they were camping ) but this year there wasn't any.Poor Ben ,luckily his pals rallied round and fed him and loaned him a few bob.But He was hoping to take any left over cash with him to Uni when he starts later this month.poor little devil was stoney broke.I had to transfer cash to his account so he could get the train to Lymington then the ferry over to Yarmouth for the rest of our holidays.
We have just booked next years trip to the Island and we're staying at the old Theatre at the top of Sun Hill in West Cowes. Its been redeveloped into two apartments. we also get to use next doors pool if we want :):):)Roll on next August
All the boys are back at school tomorrow, and I have a lie-in:) as Mikey is now Year Six and will be walking to school on his own :):):) relaxing start to my day for a change after the past 5 years getting him to school.
Hugs to anyone in need ,isn't the weather glorious today.DD had the Brisish Gas chaps at her house today(she was at work) so I seemed to be making countless cups of tea. They were doing the loft and cavity wall insulating, nice chps though and they were as quick as they could be
Right time for some dinner methinks
    Cheers chums
