Help adapting a slow cooker recipe
Hi I've been lurking for a wee while, picking up loads of tips as I go, particularly for recipes / food. Before Christmas I bought a slow cooker in the half price sale at Tesco. Since then, I've had some successes (mostly following recipes) and some less successful meals (mostly trying to adapt things myself). I've found a…

Learning faith in OS? (Non religious)
I have a problem with having faith in doing things OS/naturally. When something needs cleaning hygienically and I read about using vinegar, tea tree oil etc, I can't really believe it works as well as using shop bought disinfectant or bleach. Same with OS remedies. I spent a year studying Herbalism, but every time I get a…

How do I cook the chicken legs without them drying out? I'll probably…

Polish food
I recently had a look in a local Polish shop and Mr T also seems to sell a lot of Polish food - all of it seems very cheap, but I don't know what things are or how to use them - one jar said that the contents were good on toast, and looked like old fashioned dripping (one of my childhood pleasures!) Are there any good…

Getting black hair dye out of a cream carpet?
Hi New to this forum. I am just decorating our bedroom which is starting to look great. Money Saving Madness
I'm on a roll and looking to save money wherever I can. I've had a letter from the benefits people to say my income isn't going to change this year, and another from the council saying council tax and housing benefits are going down and you can bet your life that my other outgoings are going to rise if I do nothing! :(…
