How often do you deviate from the stated recipe?
I cant think of the last time I cooked a dish from a recipe that was actually the recipe. In fact some of my dishes could come under the trade descriptions act! Yesterday I cooked up a beef bourginon to eat today. Its in the fridge now, melding the flavours together. The recipe called for beef, pearl onions (or shallots)…

Plastic tub storage
Morning all. I am declaring war on all my lock n lock, tupperware etc. - every single tub and lid will be put in a large box until there are no more to be found in the house. When I have done that any tub or lid that doesn't have a lid or tub to match will be out. After that I need to find a better way to store the damn…

£100 for 5 weeks food - family of 4
Deja vu I hear you thinking :) I know there have been an increasing amount of threads very similar to this one over the last few weeks and months and this is more likely than not linked to the cost of food rising so much. I am more than feeling it. I am been paying debts off for a while and initially tried to free up some…

Large breadpans
Good morning, I want to start making my own bread again and currently have a panasonic breadmaker, however would really like to do it the old fashioned way and have traditional shaped loaves instead of massive almost square shaped! Gooseberry streusel cake.
:hello: Had to share this. Well, a picture anyway. You'll have to make your own. :p I can't credit anyone with the recipe - it got sent to me like this and I've no idea where it originated. I used 6oz red and 6oz green gooseberries. 8oz isn't enough. ;) Recommended storage life 2 months. Yeh, likely story. :p

How to clean overflow bit on the bath?
I have noticed its smelling a little, I have used a plug unblocker in the bath and not much has happened to be honest. I think its actually coming from the overflow bit, you know the bit with all the holes in that the plug dangles from:). I have tried to pour some bleach down it but it usually just comes back out again.…

Smelly watch!
I have a lovely watch that my sister gave me as a gift a few years ago. It stinks now!!! I would be sitting there, smelling this awful 'stinky feet' smell, after having showered and having clean clothes on. Couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from. I eventually twigged that it was my watch!:o It has a leather…

Neutralising BBQ smells
My neighbours are obsessed with BBQs! Nearly every day this summer they've had one. The smoke gets into our small flat and everywhere smells; even with the windows closed the smell gets in the vents. Is there anything I can do to neutralise it? I've tried scented candles and air freshener but they're not enough.
