Gooseberry streusel cake.

:hello:

Had to share this. Well, a picture anyway. You'll have to make your own. :p

I can't credit anyone with the recipe - it got sent to me like this and I've no idea where it originated. I used 6oz red and 6oz green gooseberries. 8oz isn't enough. ;)

Recommended storage life 2 months. Yeh, likely story. :p
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I want one now, I love streusel cake. Someone on here was looking for a plum cake recipe the other day, plum streusel is fab. In fact I think it was Taplady!

Ooh, that brings back memories of when I lived in Germany. My mum mostly used plums cut in 1/2, or cherries. She used to make hers on a large baking tray. Also nice with a bit of cinnamon in the streusel topping if using plums.

I wish I'd married a man like you MrBadExample. I'm stuck with the cooking and I hate it.

That looks delicious by the way.

    Thanks. :D

Although I'm not sure I could marry anyone who hated cooking. You'd have to do a bit, at least. :p

It probably wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to do it ALL! Unfortunately DH isn't a cook. I remember years ago when he was unemployed and I was out at work so he decided to make dinner. He mixed everything in the cupboards and created a completely inedible mess.

One valentine's day as he had no money he decided to make me a loaf of bread. He had no idea of measurements and it turned out enormous - it rose so much that he said he had to put it in the oven to stop it taking over :rotfl:.

I bought a load of plums the other day that turned out to be sour. Plum streusal cake, here I come - but I have no idea who to feed it to, other than myself!!! (Family and near-friends all deserted me for the summer and no b/f atm :D).
