Smelly watch!

I have a lovely watch that my sister gave me as a gift a few years ago. It stinks now!!!
I would be sitting there, smelling this awful 'stinky feet' smell, after having showered and having clean clothes on. Couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from. I eventually twigged that it was my watch!:o
It has a leather strap and I have no idea what to do with it. I'm sure someone has come across this problem before and I would be grateful for any ideas please.
Going to turn the PC off now and get my wee one off to bed, so I will check in tomorrow and see if anyone can help.
TIA

Leather can get like that. Get a new strap, they're not usually too expensive. If you feel my comments are helpful then I'd love it if you 'Thanked' me!0

I honestly didn't think of doing that! Where is my brain these days?Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I'd also give the back a gentle scrub (I use a soapy flannel and old toothbrush) - it's scary how much gunk comes out! My old work watch has a fabric strap so periodically I'd take it off & give that a wash too... Either by hand and nail brush at the bathroom sink, or fastened into a net bag & tossed in the washing machine with a dark wash. Now very worn and I can't find another to replace it, so the watch face is sitting in my jewelry box while I wear a cheap watch from Sains.0

I may try the strap in the washing machine. Leather shoes do okay, so may be worth a go. Easier to try that before shelling out for a new strap.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Have you thought about using saddle soap? I used to own horses and used a bar of Belvoir glycerine saddle soap to clean all of my tack . I also used it to clean the headlining of my VW Beetle and it brought it up like new, it smells lovely too and is non abrasive.:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0

Thanks for the idea, but I don't have saddle soap. Probably be cheaper for me to buy a new strap. It's going in the wash this morning, so I will see how it goes.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
