Funny looking supermarket chilled chicken. Help please.
Hi I have just popped a chilled supermarket chicken in the oven, but wasn't sure if it's Ok to eat. When I took it out of the plastic it smelt fine but hadn't been cleaned properly. In side there was quite a bit of 'matter' that looked like weetabix. I'm not sure what it was so I gave the chicken a really good wash in cold…

homemade yogurt - a bit runny and stretchy!
I made my own yogurt for the first time last night; used a warm oven. The yog tasted nice this morning but it's a bit thin; I used a muslin but it just all sort of came straight back through the cloth, which didn't seem much good. Also it's kind of stretchy - almost like honey in the way it has 'ribbons' coming off it when…

Problems with Morphy Richards Intellichef
I bought an Intellichef in October and have used it most days. I noticed last night when I was cleaning it that the plastic rim on the main body holding the pan has cracked in 2 places. :( Has anyone who has one had the same problems? I got it from Amazon so will be getting in touch with them tomorrow.

fluff in washing machine
My machine is covering everything with a fine fluff at the moment, which is a particular nuisance on dark items. I'm having to let them dry & give them a good brush, which isn't ideal. Any ideas how I can cure this? I've tried putting a really hot wash through the machine to rinse it all out, and have of course cleared out…

Old-style recipes
Hi everyone, I wonder if this old-style recipe might help with the food budget. It goes back many years to other times when money was short and tummies were empty (I'm now a 'senior' and my Mum and Grand-mum used to make this way-back-when) Bacon and Onion Dumpling Two or three rashers of bacon (chopped), one onion…

Softening old wool
I'm not sure if this is the right place but here goes. I have recently undone a jumper to reuse the wool. The wool was originally quite soft but has now become a bit stringy. Is there anything I can use to make it soft again? I want to use it to knit a bedjacket. thanks

Timberland boots...
Hi. I have a really nice pair of light tan Timberland boots, but they are now so grubby it is embarassing! Does anyone have any top-tips for cleaning them? I did buy a spray on suede cleaner, but it was a complete waste of money. I actually think the tin was full of fresh air as it made no difference at all! Thanks.

Seafood risotto
HI guys, We are having seafood risotto tonight. What kind of veg would you put in it? What goes with prawns and octopus and possibly mussles? ( I haven't been shopping yet). I found nice recipe from Hairy bikers where they put peas in it, I imagine it adds nice colour to it (otherwise it will look very plain), but my OH…
