Roasting tin barely fits oven - problem?

I've just got what seems quite a good value roasting dish from Debenhams (had these for just over £10 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JAMES-MARTIN-BY-STELLAR-NON-STICK-ROASTING-TRAY-TIN-PAN_W0QQitemZ230586358843QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=215620771615&rvr_id=215620771615&cguid=c768b09612a0a0e202a02f90feee343aan electric)
It's slightly large for my oven, though  The handles on either end are right up against the front and back of the oven when you close the door. Is this likely to be a problem? The oven's heating elements are on either side (it's a pretty poor and inefficient - not to mention small - oven in a rented flat). It does close, but the handle is pushing right up against the oven door when I do close it.

We have this problem too. We are in rented accommodation and our oven is tiny. We can only use up to approx 36cm tins in it which is crazy especially when you are trying to cook for a family of 6. I honestly don't know how I would manage without my slow cooker! It has been a godsend. I would think you need to have a small gap around the dish at least so that the air can flow, otherwise it will affect the cooking.GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100

I think you would suffer from uneven cooking as there would be little circulation and hot spots could occur. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi bitsandpieces,
As long as the oven door closes properly I don't think it should be a problem. If you're worried about it not cooking evenly, turn the tin around half way through cooking.

Thanks. There is a gap on either end of the dish - it's just the handles sticking out which are a problem
The door closes, though the handle is pushed right against the door when it closes. Hopefully it should be OK then.0
