Easter Gifts/Egg subsitutes!
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of home-made/old style gifts etc that you intended to give at easter. I have a ridiculous amount of close friends/relatives that would each require an easter egg (children mainly) but as finances would have it we can't stretch to a commercial/shop-bought easter egg…

Things you keep because they were a bargain...
Please don't say its only me. I went into the shed today and came across the bag of 20 candleholders I bought at Ikea 8 years ago because they were reduced to 10p each - and no I haven't used them yet.... In my garage is the WW1 era Singer sewing machine on it's ornate cast iron stand with treadle and a draw with its feet…

Banana is Britain’s most wasted food
The Grocer In The Grocer they say that bananas are the most wasted food. Personally if mine are on the turn I stick them in the freezer until I have enough to make a lovely banana cake. :) I have found that bananas are going off a lot quicker these days. What do you all do with yours?! Keep it clean, please!

Help with pastry please
OK, I know I'm pregnant but this is ridiculous! I set my Kenwood off to make pastry for tonight's dinner and turned my back for two seconds, only to find that the flour and fat mixture had become a solid lump rather than the usual breadcrumb texture I was expecting. I added a drop of water thinking I'd just overworked it,…
