Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 3rd march 2010. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning :hello:
Took me a while to find the official sticky
Our rabbit jumped on the sofas and chewed holes in really obvious places grrrrrrrrr. I could fix it myself, but we've managed to get a nice man to fix it for free :j A proper upholsterer will do a much better job than me
He's coming today, he has to use material from the back of the sofas cos he can't buy the material anymore so he's going to take the back off, replace it with similar then take the cushion covers away to redo on a machine. I'm not sure how long he'll be here so my to do list will probably change as the day goes on.
It's animal day today, all 6 cages need cleaning out. Not sure how to keep them all out of the man's way  I think I'll have to put them in the bedroom
We have a basket full of eggs, my usual tuesday customer didn't need any this week so I have spares. I'll probably make cakes later. Lunch will be scrambled egg, tea will probably be egg salad :rotfl:
There was something else I was going to tell you, but I've forgotten what it was

Morning.
All well here down south west. Cool and windy, but dry and dry all week by the looks of things. Might dry stuff up a bit.
Managed to tidy the greenhouse yesterday, so that's ready to plant things. I sowed some peppers, melons and cucumbers last week and they are on top of the kitchen cabinet near the Aga hopefully germinating. It says it's 80f up there, so should do the trick.
I will wait a while on the tomatoes and corn etc...
Work today, got enough to do, but it would be nice to squeeze a cooked breakfast in from Spoons....
TRU send the eggs down here I can sell them I can never get enough...
Have a good day.... cheersNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Good Morning all, bit stiff this morning, but not too bad.Weather is dry, but a bit nippy with just a dusting of frost.I have the school run this morning plus two DGD's to get to college and placement.Hopefully I shall be all clear by 10.30. then the rest of the day is mine.I am going to declutter some drawers this morning.I seem to have far too much junk lurking .I hope everyone has a good day
Cheers JackieO
P.S. Basil is getting very bold, and has taken to sitting on the windowsill and peering in with an expectant look ,so I had better get him some bread for his breakfast or it will be no song for me this morning0 -

Tea is good old spag bol which I shall make before I go to my course this morning. DD & DS1 not in tonight so I'll put 2 portions in the freezer for another day :money:

Morning All
Was another lovely sunny day yesterday, hope its the same today.
Am going to get my office work done asap this morning and have a mainly housework day. Window cleaner came yesterday so I really want to clean the inside of the kitchen windows, have to do the blinds first which is not a fun job so OS effort today is - loads of stardrops and vinegar will be used:).
Really can't remember what is on the menu plan tonight so will go and check that in a mo.
Hoping for a NSD day today, can't think of anything I need at all.
Had Pizza Hut in the end for dinner yesterday as we were out, had a voucher from MSE and OH had a giftcard which he had received for Xmas, so it was cheap but it was awful - really quite unpleasant so very glad I didn't pay full price.
Enough waffling - have a good day all.x0 -
Mornin all
Thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday, had a nice day, spent most of it at work though. Still, OH was home and took me to the pub for a meal
I was 54 yesterday but don't mind that much as I have been thinking all year that I was already 54 so I get an extra year IYSWIM :rotfl:
Better get on, have a lot to do this morning seeing as nothing got done yesterday and work should be fun, probably going to be the only one in our office today  hate that as have to go and ask manager to come in while I nip to the loo incase the phone rings, makes me feel like I'm at school.
Hope everyone has a good day, and those who are poorly start feeling better.

Morning all,
Looks like it will be a nice day again, I think like N9eav it is meant to be dry all week, hopefully it will be, the garden is so soggy.
Work again today, busy busy busy at the moment, I need to stop off at Mr T on the way in, we need fruit so will stock up.
Dinner tonight will be jacket spuds, with ham and cheese and salad, I also need to shove a wash on tonight.
Well thats it from me today, a slow news dayhave fun all x

Very bleary eyed here this morning - DD has a cough and she likes to let you know when she's ill...early and loudly so I've been awake on and off since about half three. She'll probably have a nap at some point today and i'll be sat at my desk with my eyes rolling round my head like something possessed!
Thanks for all your comment re DS2. I really appreciate it.
I'm really busy this week MSing again - need to make up our income shortfall an DH had a promising interview last night so keeping my fingers crossed for him.
Can't remember whats for dinner but its something involving mince
Have a good day

Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.
Dry and very frosty here this morning. OH had early start but I didn't hear him go so managed to stay asleep until alarm went off. Dinner last night was roast chicken portions, roast potatoes, carrots, broccolli, peas and gravy, really enjoyed as have had two really hectic days at work, just have half a day today and I'm finished until Monday, but have the usual list of things to do at home!
When I did the baking last week I didn't make as much as normal consequently there's nothing left, so need to make some more, may do that this afternoon if I get chance. Tonights dinner is a joint of pork, that I will roast later. I'm trying to use up the food from my outside freezer as I need to defrost it, then will be ready to re-fill! Have some sausage meat in the freezer that I'm defrosting to make some sausage rolls later too.
Not much other OS going on, have a good day everyone.
Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Good Morning!!
N9eav Really wished you didn't mention Spoons breakfast!! Thats all I'm thinking about now  There is one round the corner from me & it gets so tempting, especially when I have a hangover!Oh well, weetabix and yoghurt for me.
DS is just having his crumpets, quick tidy round and wash on and then going to get ready to meet my friend to make plans for tomorrow. It's her birthday so we're out for a few drinks , think it will be an earlyish start.
I should make more flapjacks today, the ones I made yesterday are almost gone, I'm sure its not saving me money because everybody just eats double! I'll have to hide them! Think I might give cookies another go but they have never turned out quite right.
Hope everybody has a good day and that the sun comes out for you all (no sign of it here) :beer:0 -
Morning all
Bright and dry here today but not as sunny as yest. It was lovely yest and I even went out shopping without a coat and wore sunglasses!!! (more due to the glare than a heat wave lol)
Washing is going to be pegged out here too SunnyGirl - is it sad for me to be so excited about that?!?!?
Made Diva's tuna quiche last night so wil have that for lunch and rest of yest shepherds pie is for tea so a nice easy day. Diva have you ever tried freezing the cooked quiche? wouldn't mind portioning some up for packed lunches and freezing individually if it would work. Hope the hospital went well.
Going to try and get another blueberry bush this morning now that I know they need to cross pollinate - went back to Costco yest to get another but they had sold out so will try garden centre and if not order online. Want to have a look around at garden centre anyway as it will be nice not to have to rush around (am still on my week off - love it!)
Right off to make a cuppa, wm on, dw emptied, bedroom tidied, need to do floors after I have a drink. Hugs to any poorlies, have a good day
x"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D
