Morning All,
Jackie Hope your arm feels better today
BitsyBeans thanks so much for your positive comments. I feel better knowing other people have managed on less money.
Going to be a busy bee today. Need to shop this morning and that involves a few different ones so I can pick up my bargains:D probably not very OS with the petrol I spend! Need to go to Mr T's to pick up some cream that my DH uses on a rash that he insists is the only one that works but shopping at Mr S's as I have vouchers and usually go to FFoods for my bread.Phew!
Also driving over to Rotherham this afternoon as it's mum's B Day tomorrow but can't go tomorrow as it's parents evening for DS3. Have bought her some smellies but also going to make a Lemon Meringue Pie to take as it's her favourite. Also going to make a Cherry cake for SIL as she is bit fed up at the minute cos my DB3 is out of work and money is tight:( Hopefully the cake will cheer her u a bit.
Finally DS3 has requested flapjacks on his way out of the door this morning.
So my afternoon will be spent in the kitchen with the Radio 4 play cooking up a storm LOl:rotfl: Can't think of anything better but I could do with some of your spare eggs Tru
Have a good day everyone J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

JackieO- Hope the arm is a bit better this morning
It's another mild day here on the coast, there was a frost but it is quickly melting away and the sun is out in full force. Got a full to-do list today so best get a start made, soon as I have that second coffee. Todays dinner is oven bbq'd chicken bits . . . hopefully the chicken will be thawed, lol. Will try and get back later to see how everyone's days are going.0 -
Morning all............((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Not such a nice morning and bbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrr its cold.....no washing to hang out today although there is some in the basket not enough to make a full load.
OH wants me to order seeds inspite of saying a few weeks ago he did not need any extra seed this year. He is off outto the the allotment plot in the paddock.
Not too sure what I am going to do this monring. I am off to see my old friends at the quilting group in Haddington today. S is picking me up at 1.30pm. I am taking the Christmas quilt and the tack takerouterer, its time the tacks were out of it..........I have another quilt on the back of the settee which also has tacks in I will take that next Tuesday when I go to the NB group. I am going to continue to go there until they close at the end of April, do not think I will rejoin in September, I get the feeling they are a bit 'precious' if you know what I mean.
The 'bottle' men were here early this morning, our bottle bin gets emptied once a month on a Tiesday...it makes a right clatter, did go back to sleep for about an hour.....woke just before 8am.
Sausage and mash for supper tonight, off to get it ready so I do not have to do it when I get in......cheersWas 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Good morning all
jackieO - hope you are feeling a bit better
tru - well done on getting the sofa fixed.
N9eav - well done on getting the seeds in
cheeseaddict - :rotfl::rotfl:I always want fried food after a night out too. I was suffering a bit from the wrath of grapes yesterday after a college dinner with my sponsors and department Monday night and all I wanted was fried egg. I still feel a little ropey today, truth be told :rotfl:
Cake stand arrived - it looks small (I know they always do until they have cake on them - you have to mentally add another seven inches in height!) and now I'm having the trauma of finding boards and boxes - they cost stupid amounts of money. The bride is paying for the materials though, which is good - I quoted about £300 for materials (which to be fair is very very cheap for a bespoke 3 tier wedding cake, stand, boards and enough seperate lemon sponge to feed the people that hate fruit cake - if she went to a professional caterer, she'd be looking at at the very least £2000 for what she wants me to do(probably up to £3000 tbh not including the extra she would be charged for for all the "consulations") I'd say I'm in the wrong job, but these take months. I think I can still get it under that for materials, but sugarcraft stuff is ridiculously pricey. I need to sort out public liability insurance for it too (although that's fairly cheap). Somewhat sad, but necessary for things like this and big events. I'm already insured for my artwork - but I don't think it covers food. I ordered cake tins from lakeland yesterday too, what with the vouchers for Christmas and the offer on the web I got three for £7 (6'', 7'' and 12'') delivered. I keep warning her if she goes bridezilla on me, I'll ice a balloon into the lower tier
I will make an effort to cook tonight - as I had toast for tea yesterdayin amongst playing computer games and varnishing some plastic chocolate drops. I started a sketch for my commission pieces, which I need to mail to the person asking for the work, and painted the largest russian doll of the set. I have managed to send out my last outstanding folksy orders and closed the shop for week because of our impending trip *sigh*. I need to update my blog, as I have eleven unfinished posts. I bought some PMC a while back that I want to play with when I get a spare minute too.
Other plans for today - I need to repaint the windowsill as the condensation has damaged the paintwork a bit. I sanded it out last night and found the paint the actually used for the flat in the loft, so I don't have to colour match it. I washed and ironed the curtains yesterday and put another load on this morning before I left for work at 6am. I've started just not feeling guilty about doing that anymore as our neighbours are dreadfully loud late at night and I just don't have time to do it at any other time. I might make a not-fruit cake later, if I have time.
I need to go to the post office in the ghetto later to collect a parcel _pale_ and I have a seminar to go to too.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

Morning all. It's a lovely day today, my washing is out on the line. I love it when I can do that (I really need to get out more:rotfl:)
Got someone coming to view the house at !!.30 so I should re make the beds really. Put some bread on so they can't smell muddy dog:o
Tru How many pets do you have:eek:

Just popping on quickly so morning to everyone.
dull and cold here - a bit of let down after the sunshine yesterday but we've been out in the garden anyway to let kids burn off some energy.
Tea will be what should have been for last night - chicken biriyani (sp?). Hope H doesn't end up eating free sandwiches again all afternoon.
Need to make some biscuits today if I get chance.
Not much else to report. Would like it to be a NSD but I really need a shoe rack for the porch. the one that suits my needs is in Argos but £25
Anyway better dash - kids are happily playing with play dough so might nip and put the washing on.
Celyn - Wow you are always soooooo busy I don't know how you find the time! And I agree cake decorating stuff is sooooooo expensive. I can see why people charge so much for making cakes etc given the price of the equipment and the time involved.
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Basil is getting very bold, and has taken to sitting on the windowsill and peering in with an expectant look ,so I had better get him some bread for his breakfast or it will be no song for me this morning
We have a variety of other avian visitors, also. Makes it nice to look out of the window, I think. Mr LW has even fished out his grandad's old binoculars for me, so that when I'm feeling rough I can observe from the sofa.:A
Sandy good luck with the house viewing.
ETA I need to lie down now, having read Celyn's post.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I was just about to google “takerouter” when the penny dropped. I thought it was some fancy new sewing term! Mind you, I wasted 20 minutes yesterday trying to figure out what it meant to “cove dough”. Turns out the recipe had a typo and it should have been cover. Obvious really, when you know!
Dear Dad has officially offered to lend us money for a house deposit, so we’ve applied to sell ours (shared ownership so will no doubt be a right palaver), and have tentatively started packing. It could be months before we leave but OH can store boxes safely in the unused offices at work and there’s NO WAY I want to move house in such a rush that I take gone off food with me (like my friend did. Shocking.). So the things we don’t really need are going into boxes. It’ll make photos of the place look nicer anyway without the clutter.
PuppyDog is spending more time at work with OH at the moment, which means much more time for me to do OS things. Last night I made a scrummy shephards / cottage pie (not sure which…) and some cheesey marmite twists (from this site). They didn’t go as well as hoped. My breadmaker seems to require substantially more water than recipes state, so I usually get the quantity wrong and end up with lumps of flour around the edge! It’s a second-hand machine and the previous owner lost the measuring cups. I think I might have to splash out and get a new one.
OS today – making Turkey Korma with leftover turkey and half a jar of korma sauce (plenty for two!). OH bought some more eggs at the farm yesterday so I’ll use some to make a cake too. Might even make a quiche if I get chance. Other than that… more packing! What fun.
Hugs to all,
