I so know the feeling, I moved to Staffordshire from the south coast nearly 7 years ago and sometimes I miss the sea so much it hurts. I do go back down to visit family down south but not many of them live on the coast its always a hectic round of visiting and don't always get to see the sea and somehow feel cheated when I get home. I last had my fix when visiting DS over xmas, we parked up at 7 o'clock at night on Eastbourne seafront and I stood leaning over the railings in silence for ages just watching the waves.
I love going for drives and walks round here over the peak district, but when I see a hill, I just expect to see the sea on the other side :rotfl:
I have the same problem when I go back to see my family, we have so much to catch up on I don't get time to go to the coast.
Went on holiday (sun newspaper vouchers) to see what it was like to be a tourist last year and so loved it but sadly cann't do it this year so Im collecting the vouchers for Alton Towers instead :rotfl:Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

I am soooo glad I don't have to do the theme parks anymore! I hate rides, my ex OH used to take mine when they were younger and go camping, I stayed at home and had a really good time lol, funny enough their favourite one was American Adventure which is sadly no more, they went to Alton Towers a couple of times too, little did I know that years down the line I would be living on Alton Towers doorstep (I actually worked there for 2 weeks, but thats another story)
OH's DD has an annual pass that her mum buys her each year....we are not expected to take her :j she usually goes with either her mum or friends.
I'm not really a grumpy old woman....just don't like rides :rotfl:whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine
