Please don't say its only me.
I went into the shed today and came across the bag of 20 candleholders I bought at Ikea 8 years ago because they were reduced to 10p each - and no I haven't used them yet....
In my garage is the WW1 era Singer sewing machine on it's ornate cast iron stand with treadle and a draw with its feet and original booklet still in that I bought for £15 in a charity shop 4 years ago and is "awaiting" a clean up and oiling....
I just can't resist a good find even if I don't actually need them - and I can't get rid of them either!! Is it just me?

Oh no, definitely not just you.
Though I loved the sound of the candle holders.
Ercol furniture. Really. If I find it dead cheap ( coffee table £5, small kitchen table and chairs £15 and occasionally for free - family, freecycle etc) I cannot resist it. I have 4 dining tables (some folding), I think 3 coffee tables, I have no idea about dining chairs 12 or more? and armchairs, sofa bed, rocking chair or 2, trolley, sideboard. Most of which are in the attic, long cupboard or spare bedroom.

Not to mention the various Denby assortments, cookbooks, material bought from the bargain bins of old fabric warehouses (though not much of that) xmas decos, clothes, jewellery, bags, store cupboards, freezers stuffed to the brim, hand and electric sewing machines, shoes, toiletries particularly Lush...
Let's face it I used to be a bargainaholic. I am trying to resist all temptation and wean myself off of such items, but it is a slow process.Put the kettle on.

I have a fetish for textiles. I just can't resist them in charity shops or car-boot sales. I am not a competent needle-woman so I never actually make anything and I have lovely linen tablecloths pressed and folded in the airing cupboard and I don't even own a kitchen or dining-table. It's a sickness, I tell you.
I am the woman who went to Goa on holiday for a couple of months and came back with glass-cloths among my crafty scores. They were the equivalent of about 10 pence each and I'm still using them a decade later.0 -

With my tables and your linen we could make some people very happy!

I'm another who loves textiles and have not just several black bags of fabric offcuts but loads of table linen, sheets and enough towels to start my own shop.
Everytime a certain department store have a household event I buy a set of their best quality towels in the sale and now have so many,I'll never be able to use them all.
I also love teapots (and jugs) but there's only me that drinks tea (so I usually use just a teabag) but have loads of sale teapots just because I loved the look of them.
I sometimes ask myself why I buy them but can't help myself when I see a lovely fluffy towel or a pretty teapot.0 -

I just don;t get this - they weren't bargains, they would have been if you have a use for them, but that's £17 that you could have spent on chocolate :rotfl:
I'd rather get rid to someone who coyuld use them -Freecycle or a charity shop

Fabric. Yarn. Spinning wheels. Got eight spinning wheels and no sane human needs that many even if they do teach and demo a lot. They were all bargains though!Val.0

Mine is fabric as well.Bought loads a few years ago for quilting. Made three quilts then opened my own business so had no time for sewing.
However I have decided as part of my use it / declutter the house project to try & make some easy quilts before we have our annual Folk & Boat festival in the town in June & see if can sell them there & recoup some of the money I've spent (wasted) over the years.0
