Bamix Stick Mixer
Hi I lashed out on one of these and all the trimmings and hardly use it. All I use it for is for reducing lumpy soup to smooth and yes, then it's really useful as you can do this in the pan. However rather an expensive option. I have an electric hand mixer and a magimix as well and tend to use the electric mixer for cake…

Heating a Steak Pie
Hi all, I have been given a steak pie from a butcher, but I am unsure of the best way to heat it. What do you all think? Should I, remove the pastry lid, heat the meat and gravy in a pot, then put the whole thing in the oven to brown the pastry? Or, should I heat the meat/gravy in the oven then add the pastry lid? Or,…

Stop me buying a Tefal VitaFruit jam maker!!
I've recently joined Weight Watchers and have received a voucher for £30 off a Tefal VitaFruit jam maker http://linamariepony.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/licks.jpg however this still makes it £70 so I'm thinking of an alternative... The blurb says you use 50% less sugar than shop bought jam which is tempting since less…

Does anyone use Stork in a tub?
Hi all, I'm a big fan of Twink's homemade hobnobs. :T I've made them in the past with butter and block Stork marg and they were just fab! I tried them again using Stork from a tub and they were sort of soggy/greasy. They never crisped up. Everything else was the same so I think it must have the marg. I see it says that…
