Fabric Softener Turned Solid

I have some tesco fabric softener that I bought aaaages ago. Then in the meantime, I did some market research for a company that sent me a huge bottle of a new fabric softener to test. I don't use FS in every wash, so that lasted me ages, and I'm now back to the tesco stuff that I've had for months.

But instead of being runny like normal, it's turned into an almost-solid gel at the bottom of the bottle.

Does anyone have any idea how I could perhaps fix it, to make it usable again? I don't really want to throw it out as it's 1/3 - 1/2 of a bottle.

It sounds as though it has 'settled' like paint does when you don't use it for a while (not that I am saying it is like paint, mind). Firstly I would suggest giving a good shake (make sure top is on tight) and if this doesn't work, a few drops of hot water to 'melt' it and then a good shake. After that, I'm not really sure. Hope this helps.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

Thank you, sounds sensible! I'll give it a try.

add some water to make it the right consistency again, do you remember when they first introduced concentrate and you had to pour it in your old big bottle and top up with water?
