making home made marmalade question

Hi, I am going to make some home made marmalade for the first time.
I have got some glass jars with spring closing lids and rubber seals. I was wondering if these would be suitable for the marmalade. as they are bigger jars i got wax discs for 2lb jars but they are too small, does anyone know where i can get them any bigger because this seems to be the biggest ones i can find.
I got the fancy jars because i was thinking of giving as gifts if i am successful.
thanks for your help in advance.

I think the jars will be OK, I use ordinary jam jars with screw on lids usuually recycled honey jars and the like.
Maybe you're making marmalade from ordinary sweet oranges but I wonder if you know that marmalade oranges are very seasonal and won't be available until January?0 -

Don't worry though you can use the aformentioned Mamade which you should be able to find with the marmalade in the supermarket. It comes in a big tin and is shredded Seville oranges. It's really easy to turn into marmalade and a lot less trouble;)
You can also make marm out of limes or grapefruit. Have a google for recipes using sweet oranges and see what they say.0 -
