    Found this in their frequently asked questions section on their website:

    "If you have not set up any 'dislikes' on your account, then go to the 'dislikes' page when you are logged in and select the fruit or vegetable you don't want. We will exclude them in future and replace them with another item.

    They replace it with a different veg, not already in the box, so you don't end up with loads of the one type. At least thats what they did when I used them

    Recent Abel and Cole substitutions:

    Celery one week, chard the next instead of potatoes ( not otherwise in the box).

    Pears two weeks running as substitute for bananas then grapefruit..
    import this

    What other box schemes are around besides A&C that anyone has tried?

    I used to get a box from them but due to distance (Northants) they would only let me have a ginormous box and nothing smaller - it ended up being wasted so I canceled my order.

    EDITED TO ADD: Don't worry - just done a search and found HUGE number of threads on this subject.

    Also found this link through The Times listing tons of organic box schemes all over the country. I had no idea there was a local box scheme just up the road from me that delivers boxes on BICYCLES!

  • Riverford is marginally cheaper but can't specify likes/dislikes. Abel and Cole substitute with another veg that isn't on your dislikes list- sometimes a 'higher value' one too!
