Best method to store raw meat a few extra days without freezing
Hi everyone, does anybody have any thoughts on this, a suggestion has been proposed that the joint (in this case a brisket) should have any plastic packaging removed and the joint sealed in foil and then kept in the bottom of the fridge. I keep my fridge compartment at 4 deg any thoughts on the foil reacting with the meat?…

OH doesn't like veg...
It's tricky to cook for us cheaply and healthily as DH only likes meat, potatoes, beans, bread, pizza etc. It's very hard to bulk out mince and we can't have many meat-free evenings. I do baked potatoes with cheese and beans, any other ideas for meat-free meals that won't consist of just mashed potato? :D

Beetroot stain on white sweatshirt
Morning, I've found that I managed to miss my mouth with some beetroot - I didn't notice so I must have been walking around with a pink blob on my front all day  Does anyone have any idea how to tackle this? I'm guessing not a great idea to simply chuck it in the washing machine and cross my fingers?

English Picnic buffet dish that can be made in advance
I am going to an international picnic in Switzerland, I will be driving there, and have to provide a traditional dish to put on the buffet table. As it is a long drive, I need something that can travel well, and also that can be made one day, survive the journey, then be served the following day, so about 3 days in all. I…

different types of curtain tops
We recently moved to a new house. The living room has a curtain pole with some tab top curtains fitted. We don't like them very much and find it hard to close them without standing on the sofa. I would quite like to use the curtains I brought with me from the old house but they have a tape top. Without (a) altering the…

Can I use unripe early windfalls?
Our overladen apple tree is finally lightening it's branches and dropping many reasonable sized green apples. I know they would be awful to eat but could I cook with them? Seems a shame to let them go to waste! Thanks R.

Tarnished / burnt pan lid help
Hi The other day a stainless steel pan lid of mine got knocked onto a gas burner whilst lit and left for about 30 seconds. It's not bent or anything, but it is a burnt / tarnished pewter colour now, which I've not been able to get off so far. It looks really messy and it's quite a new pan so I was hoping someone might have…

What to do with dodgy casserole beef?
I have some beef in the freezer that I hid there when it arrived in my Asda grocery order! It's not off or anything, just didn't look very appetising, bad cuts, a bit fatty, dark coloured bits...
