Our overladen apple tree is finally lightening it's branches and dropping many reasonable sized green apples. I know they would be awful to eat but could I cook with them? Seems a shame to let them go to waste!
Thanks

They would probably make good herb jelly as well, crab apples are used for a similar thing and they are incredibly sour0

we have a crab apple tree and I make several jars of crab apple jelly each year from the fruit. We use it just like any other jam - on toast, in cakes, on crumpets. A spoonful added to a curry is nice as well. A thin spread of it in a sandwich with some strong cheese would be good as well, just like pickle. I suppose you can do the same with normal apples. One life - your life - live it!0

Just peel, core and boil them up,(I use the microwave) then freeze in margerine tubs for use in jams/jellies pies and cakes at a later date.0
