Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Friday 17th July! This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Good Morning :D

I couldn't sleep so have got up rather than tossing & turning. Its looking rather drizzly here but it might brighten up later if we're lucky :T

It's DS2's last day today, he's finishing at 1.45pm. Todays plans include doing the FlyLady list, going swimming with DS3 and cleaning out the gerbils & fish. Lunch will be pitta pizzas and dinner this evening is sausage pasta. The elder 2 are staying away tonight as they're at a party but at least we can lock the door early & not be woken up when they 'creep' back in :rotfl:

Diva Hope that everything is ok with you?

Fairyelephant Thinking about you too.

Hillstep Prayers for you all xx

Churchmouse Sorry to read about your son hope he is on the road to recovery now.

Hugs to anyone else that needs one & I'll catch up later on. I'm off to enjoy a quiet surf with my coffee now :D

    Morning everyone.
Not such an early start today (thankfully). It's DS last day at pre school and I feel quite sad about it :o He's loved going there (after a bumpy start) and its such a lovely little place its a shame he can't stay there longer. Plus its a sign that he's growing up which seems to be happening all too fast.
Meeting friends this afternoon so not much OS or housework going on today (oh what a shame ;)). I have to pop to the local garden centre to buy some more carrot seeds as I have run out completely (and we can't have that can we :rotfl:).
Think H fancies fish and chips (but cooked at home) for tea tonight so have some breaded fish (bought :o) and some chips (also bought :o:o) in the freezer so thats nice and quick to prepare.

Churchmouse - hope your son is on the mend now

FE - thinking of your. Hope the news on your scan was good.

Hilstep - I am so sorry for you and your DD. Have been there myself and it's just heartbreaking. Thinking of you all.

Have a good day everyone OS or not.

    Morning all,

TDIF :D, off to work again today, We had a huge storm here last night, thunder and lightning, little dog hates it, and flattened herself under the sofa, I think she thinks we are being bombed

Spag bol for tea for OH and I, dd will have macoroni cheese, think I will make up several and freeze the extra ones, I am getting a nice stock of hm veggie ready meals now :T

Need to do another wash tonight, will have to hang it on the airer, as it is supposed to rain heavily again today and tonight , getting fed up with it now.

Churchy, I am glad your ds is recovering now xx

FE, hope you are ok xx

Have not seen N9eav about for a while, hope he is ok x

    Have good days all xx
  • Morning all,

Got back late last night from a lovely holiday in France (last holiday before baby arrives!) but feeling a bit despondent at how expensive everything was. Have just spent half an hour adding up receipts etc and when DH gets up I'll tell him we're on rations now for the next month!!

Still, back on the bandwagon today. Laundry is on, HM yogurt is busy yogging and I've been offered a big bag of wool on freecycle so I'm off to pick that up this evening - yay!

Have a good Friday to everyone and sending happy thoughts to all who are poorly or having a tough week.
