    Afternoon all.

    Happy birthday Mrs Moneypenny

    Happy Birthday Noah

((((HUGS)))) to Hilstep; sorry to hear your sad news.

Mr LW is w*rking from home today, so it's a 15:30 finish. Tomato bread has been made, and I've had him phone Revenue & Customs for me, as they'll want to tax me on the little bit of money I make (if any) from the dogsitting. *SIGH* I do wish I could cope with phone calls myself, but I get so very panicky speaking to anyone.

I have to visit the GP this afternoon at 17:00, so am fretting about that, also - it's only a meds review, but I do so hate going. Never mind, Mr LW will be with me.:o Picking up his repeat prescription too, so that we can get the lot from the pharmacy all in one go.

I'm just hoping the weather improves over the weekend - I have a list of jobs as long as my arm to get done. Whatever else we don't manage, we must go and get some fruit'n'veg from Stony Stratford market tomorrow; and I was hoping to get some PYO blackcurrants. And I have a whole load of lavender I want to cut to make little bags to put in our clothes drawers.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Just popped back on to say Happy Birthday Noah! Enjoy the cakebaking NPM.

Got back from leavers assembly and cried buckets. DS got himself in a tis, each child or groups of them did something in the style of Britains Got Talent, and he was supposed to be demonstrating some Ju Jitsu moves, but he got so nervous and ended up going out the hall in tears. Once he was crying, so was I. Went out and sat with him and gave him a big hug.

Recovered enough to come back in and be given his leavers book and certificate, then they sang the leavers song. Made the mistake of looking at DD, and she was bawling, so that set me off again.

Anyway, back home now to recover from all the emotion!

    Happy Birthday to Noah :bdaycake:

Ladyshopper I went through it all yesterday with my DS3 - my last baby to leave primary school so the end of an era. DS was emotional and quite crabby when we got home but he's ok today. We've been swimming this morning and aregoing to plan the holiday activities this afternoon so it gives him something to look forward to :T
  • Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for all your good wishes and kind thoughts over the last couple of days. You are such lovely people, I got quite teary when I was having a quick scan through to catch up on what I missed!
Sorry for not updating yesterday - internet at home is still playing up (must get that sorted, otherwise I shall be totally cut off when they make me redundant!).

Well - we had the scan - and WE HAVE A HEARTBEAT! - I just clung onto DH's hand and cried! (and DH was all damp-eyed too!). Of course it is still early days (6wks+4), so not out of the woods yet, but it is the furthest we have got yet. I stood in front of the mirror last night practising saying 'I am pregnant' but it feels so very weird to be able to say it!!!
Of course, with us, nothing is ever straightforward...there is a little concern that they couldn't see what had happened to the 2nd embryo, although there was a shadowy area that 'might' be it, so they want me to go back next week for another look, just in case. They are being ultra-cautious because having had an ectopic already I am 10-15% more likely to get another - and the 2nd embryo could have implanted itself somewhere it shouldn't... but I am trying not to worry too much about that possibility, and to stay positive. They still want me to rest as much as poss for the next 6 weeks (not a problem at the moment, as I am so tired I can drop off at the drop of a hat!).

(((HUGS))) Hilstep and your DD - Obviously a situation very close to my thoughts at the moment. No words can 'make it better' but hope that you both feel better soon and that DD takes the time to be kind to herself. Thinking of you xxx

Lamewolf - glad the 'dog lady' said yes - how exciting!

    Happy Birthday Mrs Moneypenny!

Sorry - there were loads of people I was going to to 'say something' to, but it has all gone out of my head! (apparantly this is normal - and will get worse - aarrggghhh!) so all I can do at the moment is send ((((BIG HUGS)))) to everyone and thanks again for your good wishes.

Have a good weekend if I don't get back online in between!

  • Happy Birthday Mrs Moneypenny and Noah :) Hugs to Hilstep and family, sorry to hear your sad news. Such lovely friendly people on here, I enjoy my coffee breaks more these days 'catching up' with everyone, thanks for the lovely warm welcome as well :D

I'm being a good little Lemon today and been tackling the 'get more organised' part of the get back on track campaign. Knicker drawers and sock drawers this afternoon, followed by sorting out clothes and books, plan is to take any that are suitable to the local Cat Protection place this weekend and the rest to the collection banks at the local Asda or the bin for the non-salvagable stuff.

Feeling chuffed with myself, wanted some new curtains for the kitchen but held back when we thought DH would be out of work. I'd seen a pair that were just right but were £25 a pair and I needed 2 pairs and I couldn't justify the spend if he was losing his job. He diddn't as I mentioned on another thread :) And yesterday we went to the local DIY for some screws for a job that DH is doing this weekend that's how we celebrate we spalsh out £3.99 on screws and wallplugs lol! When we came out of the DIY place I asked to go in the local Dunelm which is next door just for a look see. They had a big reduced aisle! I found two pairs of curtains in exactly the colour I was wanting for 99p each pair, a matching pelmet thing that I'm going to turn into two matching draft excluders for 25p each, I got 3 so I can make a peg bag and some other bits as well. I picked up a complete bed set for the spare room, lovely dolly mixture patchwork material originally £30 the set for just £3.99 and a pair of curtains for one of the other bedrooms that badly need a new pair originally £10.99 reduced to £2.74 and a tablecloth for 50p! 3 pairs of curtains a bed set and fabric to make accessories for less than £15 cheaper than 1 pair of curtains! Feeling really pleased with myself for hanging on and for getting the bargains and saving us a fortune :D

Spent this morning making a list of all the rooms in the house that can do with sprucing up, need re-decorating etc and came up with ways to do just that and have now set myself the task of doing it all as cheaply as possible. I was feeling depressed at the state of the house and the fact we couldn't afford to do things, now have a plan which doesn't involve rolls of paper that cost £15 or more each and making things nicer is affordable and do'able. Can't believe I can get so excited about getting a bargain and decorating lol!

FE what fab news!!!:T:T:j:jmake sure you do rest as much as you can...I remember being very tired in the first few weeks with DS..infact that was the first sign I was pregnant..so tired and could not catch up no matter how much sleep I had....I did a test just to put the possiblity out of my mind as although we were tryin I had only just come off the pill and was expecting it to take a few months:o..and there it was a couple of weeks later, BFP...you are bound to be tired, you are growing another person! Just do what your body tells you:D
Happy birthday Mrs Moneypenny!!..what a good day for a birthday lol

Noahs cake now made, he isnt having anyone here as he cant cope with that but he makes me and OH play pass the parcel and musical bumps etc:o and will have a birthday tea which he has given me a verbal list of what he wants....ham sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, saus rolls, custard creams, oh and chunks of breaded cod  and of course his cake.

No migraine as yet today so we shall see:T
