OS treats
I am doing well at money saving and living the OS way :j but I have a bad habit of wanting to treat myself with the odd bar of chocolate, a magazine or a toy for my dd etc etc. If I am honest with myself I probably waste about £40 a month on treats! Things I can't even remember buying a few days later:rolleyes: What OS…

Raw chicken - should I freeze or bin it?
 I bought a pack of 4 chicken breasts last Saturday, opened the pack and used two. They have a slight bad smell, and the surface has gone a little bit bumpy. I've…

Bottom oven on a range cooker
What do you use it for? I've got an oil fired Stanley which is like an Aga/Rayburn and heats the house, water and we can use it for cooking. However I never use the bottom over. Firstly because I'm never sure what to put in there, secondly because it went through a phase of leaving black soot over everything and thirdly…

what is non-detergent soap?
I need to wash a particularly festering sleeping bag, and the care label says to use non-detergent soap. Sorry to sound like an idiot, but does this just mean plain soapflakes as opposed to manufactured washing powder? Thanks

How to clean my cream wool rug
I have got a large cream wool rug which has now gone beyond the stage of spot cleaning (in fact it was some time ago but the electric lights seem to make it look even worse) and i really need to clean the whole thing if I'm going to carry on using it. The rug label say I can't get it wet, so my usual carpet cleaning…

Miricle cleaning liquid on Ideal World, anyone used it?
Was flicking channels last night, came across Ideal World and there was this chap, Professor Amos, I think he was called, demonstrating this miraculous cleaning stuff. Look impressive especially the way it cleaned filthy carpet. I'm always rather sceptical of these 'wonder products', but have to admit I was tempted. Has…

Dolls for a dollshouse
I'm making a dollshouse for my 2 year old, I'm doing it 1/12 scale of a traditional dollshouse so we can add to and improve it as the years go by, but all the dools that are sold for that size seem to be for collectors, not for playing. Any suggestions as to what dolls would fit, but not be too expensive? Someone recently…

Bargain chillis-What can I do with them that doesnt involve eating?
Hi, Just come pack from supermarket with a pack off the reduced section of about 10 chillis. Only paid 49p! I'm not a fan of chillis in food but wondered if anybody had any ideas of things I could use them for as presents. All ideas considered! They seemed such a bargain so would be great If I could put them to good use.
