While looking to find interesting ways of wrapping xmas gifts i found this word - Furoshiki. The japanese have been doing this for years, and with the enviroment we are living today it is a very easy thing to do.
Originating from Japanese culture where it promotes caring for the environment and reducing waste; Furoshiki is the eco-friendly wrapping cloth. Using techniques similar to origami, it can be used for gift wrapping, grocery shopping or simply as decor.
Why furoshiki? It is reusable and multipurpose. Each year billions of plastic bags end up as litter; reusable bags, such as furoshiki can help reduce the impact to our environment. Its versatility allows you to wrap almost anything regardless of its shape or size.

youtube has some excellent examples to follow if you prefer video mod to learn this art.
All you need is a large square piece of fabric.
And with 3 knots you can change it in to a bag!!!
Am off to try it now.
