what is non-detergent soap?

I need to wash a particularly festering sleeping bag, and the care label says to use non-detergent soap. Sorry to sound like an idiot, but does this just mean plain soapflakes as opposed to manufactured washing powder?
Thanks
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

No idea, but I'd sling it in the washer with a couple of Daz or Aerial tablets anyway. :rotfl:

I think that's probably what it means, maybe you could put in some soda crystals as well to give it a boost?

Yes, it does! Soap is made in a simple procedure from fat and alkali. Detergent is cheaper and can have all sorts of things in it :D
