Melting cooking chocolate
I know you have to use a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, but I've found that I don't actually have the correct combination of bowl and saucepan to do this very well. Currently using a small shallow oval pyrex bowl over a very small saucepan, but it isn't big enough for the amount I'm melting. What's the easiest…

Help, I'm overwhelmed with food!
The last couple of weeks I've really been trying to do a storecupboard challenge, and I've been very diligent about trying to mealplan and not buy more than I need. Unfortunately I forgot to cancel my vegbox delivery, and I got home from work to find I've got loads of veg! Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but…

Cans of beer 4 months over best before
Hi, I'm new on here, looking forward to contributing. Bit of a silly question, but does anyone know anything about beer? My dad has some cans that he is on the point of throwing away because they are 4 months past the best before date (found them at the back of the cupboard, he'd put them there and forgotten them!). It…

Is my feather duvet dead?
My duvet is 50% feather 50% down. Although the pockets on the sides are bouncy, fluffy and warm, the pockets in the middle are completely flat no matter how much I shake it. Would a good wash and dry sort this out (it is machine washable) or is it a goner?

What is the best hand/stick blender?
Hi All I am thinking about getting a hand blender. It looks a lot easier to clean…

leather coat - can it have gone mouldy?
Hi I have a leather coat which has been stored downstairs in one of the rooms of our very old not very often heated house. I dont know if it has spots of mould on it, or if it is paint residue. (the room was used for storing coats and jackets and OH has lots of dirty dusty painting stuff). What is the best way to clean…
