Hi, this is the Daily Thread for wed24/10/07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning. Back to work today after a few days off. I managed to get quite a few things done over the past few days which was help.
The best of which was cleaning up some of the garden and getting rid of pieces of an old greenhouse. I bought it for £20 several years ago, used it and got a better one. I bagged it up and took it for scrap and got £16. Better than having a pile of metal in the garden. It was only a 'lean to' greenhouse, so that must mean a full greenhouse is worht about £35 scrap. Is it worth picking up the free ones I see in the local paper????
Well had a nice fire lit in the fireplace last night and watched Arsenal thrash the other team 7-0. Glass of wine... nice way to end my days off. Oh and PLYMOUTH won too.....

morning all,
Up earlier today, at work this morning, got a three hour meeting  , to think about fundraising ideas  , i think we are having lunch out the company will pay so thats good.
DD is going out with her dad for the day, I think they are going to Arundel castle where there is a roman thing going on.
Got smoked haddock for tea, I have some corn on the cob to use up, so might do that with some nice bread and butter.
Will have a quick swipe round this morning before work, and rubbish / recycling need to go out.
Have good days all, lots of hugs where needed.

Goodmorning everyone,
I didn't get as much gardening as I wanted to do this morning as it was very humid. Rain is forecast tomorrow so that explains it. I hope so as I can have a guilt free day. As you know the bloke down the road gave me some grass seed with the firm instructions to water it in morning and night. I feel like a criminal as we have water restrictions on here  not as bad as the mainland, but nonetheless it's pretty hard to be invisible watering in the front yard.
Anyway, there is no new grass coming up at all.I can't even see the seed anymore. Tony (old bloke) drove by really slowly this arv looking at the front yard. I suppose he'll pop in for a looky see in a day or two on progress. The hairdresser turned up. Last time I got her to foil my hair, trim and she blow dried. Charged me $70. This time I didn't get a trim, she foiled it, and I told her to let it dry naturally. She charged $85. Go figure. To top it off I even gave her a lettuce.
If I'd known that I wouldn't have but I mentioned the lettuce before she did my hair hoping it would work it's usual magic.
Stress Lucky you. I love GOM & GOW shows. Have a great night.
Scuzz Hope your arm gets better soon.

Hi all,
Totally freezing here today so not going to prune back the shrubs as I'd planned. Am actually thinking about taking a morning off to do some scrapbooking while watching a dvd with DS2. He a bit bored as his best mate is away until this afternoon, so I expect we'll be having him round for tea.
Want to fly round the kitchen and living room first, quick broom and mop and general plumping of cushions and dusting where the sun catches it.We're off out to a friends this afternoon so pleasant day planned.
Enjoy your wednesday everyone.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Hi Scuzz you may be able to save ££ on your dogs tablets by getting the presciption from the vet and buying from the chemist or online. Your vet has to give you the prescription (may make a nominal reasonable charge) if you take the tabs you have already to your pharmacy and get prices it will let you know if you can save.
Hello everyone else hope you all have a great day0
