    Hi Folks

    Done the speed read again!

JackieO - so glad to hear from you again. Obviously you are not having the best of times just now but well done with the forward plans. Keep us updated as and when you can.

Luxor - you have me in a quandry and tried to find out from FAQ. Who or what is OM?

Jcr - I am a total dental phobic. Sorry to hear about your experience but congrats on being so brave.

dlb - well, sleepovers, done it I've got the tee-shirt but so glad we did. Ok the going through at all times of the night to try and get them to shut up a nightmare at the time. But not all parents do that. One of my DD's friend's Mum used to complain if girls sat on the bed and wrinkled the duvet. Get a life (she never did do the sleepover bit but her daughter was here regularly)!

Nelski - show us the pics of lovely legs and please, please put those men down, you wee Hxxsy!

Following a beautiful thread on The Arms regarding meningitis. Us OSers have bumped up a charity contribution so much. Martin mentioned it in his newsletter and contributed from the site. Have a look please.

PenPin - hope you are OK.

Hope everyone else with back aches and pains, other aches and pains OK - sorry I am not mentioning you by name because this would be a novel! Just be sure I have read and I sympathise.

Kyle - please, please tell me how to do an avatar! Is Mum OK she hasn't posted? Probably getting busy with the painting as she will be back at work next week.

DD phoned me from ELC today and that is the rest of the boys' pressies done for Christmas. PirateShip for DGS2 (with scary ghost pirates) and the Fisher Price animal thing they are advertising on tv just now for DGS3. She reckons it will annoy the Hxll out of them for the noise - well what the heck, Grandparents' perogative! Just need to go on line tonight and transfer money from my bank account to hers.

Hope to look at you all again tonight but DH has done even more soup which requires blitzing and then freezing. This means taking stuff out of tubs and putting in freezer bags as freezer groaning. He is a star.

Off to nurse in the morning for blood tests so doctor can see if medication right, plus getting my heart monitor fitted for 24 hours on Monday, back to get it off Tuesday. I mentioned at work today about how do I shower on Tuesday. They said they would bring in the clothes pegs!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love and hugs to all.

Just mentioned we haven't heard from you! Thought you would be busy with the decorating. DH took advantage of Lidls veg - hence the second pot of soup.

Glad to hear bloods OK. I am getting mine done tomorrow. Thyroid, liver function and BP!

    Love

Meant to give you a special mention (sorry everyone else). Hope things are OK but maybe nature should take it's course. Not easy being here and things happening in Cyprus.

    Hello All,

Seem to have been running, or more correctly, driving all day...DGS2 had harvest festival in church this morning, so there for 11, then did a little C'mas shopping, must check list, can't have too much else to get now, just keep throwing things in cupboard which is not really good enough. I had to go to bank after I collected DGS2 from school, sign some forms, then get printer cartridges filled...one needed 'soaking' (do I know what that means??) so will have to collect to-morrow, then collect DGS1 from school and home to cook dinner. Just as I was ready to dish up, BIL who lives in US arrived with OH's eldest sister...they only ever stay for ten minutes, won't have tea/coffee and manage to disrupt everything...one speaking English, the other Irish and poor Marie having to switch every minute...great fun.

We did eventually get to eat and have been taking it easy ever since, watched soaps and did a bit of knitting, going back to knitting shortly as I want to finish baby cardigan number 3 so I can move on with C'mas knitting....still waiting for wool to arrive from Sunderland, ordered on 8th September....feel sorry for company as it has been returned to them twice with 'incorrect address' on it....apparently it is delivery company who obviously didn't think to ask anywhere....anyway, I have given them written directions now to get here from anywhere in Ireland so hopefully it will arrive soon!

Cold here evenings and mornings but lovely and sunny during the day...I could live with this for ever.

JackieO nice to see you posting....keep reading and post when you can...hugs.

Love to all in trouble of any kinds and hugs to those who would like one

evening all - just got back from blackpool - brilliant - would definitely go again. We only had one full day there but we packed a lot in - sea-life, dr who, shopping, lights, piers, trams, chips - fantastic. The best bit was sitting around watching telly with dd in the evening - need to do that a lot more often. I swear not a single fruit or vegetable has pased or lips since sunday evening - unless you count chips or rosy apple sweets. dd, in a true OS stylee tromped up and down the promenade looking for the best prices on rock settling on 10 for £1.50.

Anyway back ot earth with a bump - we are skintish although with lots of vouchers, railcards and very cheap band b we kept within budget. I had asked dd to take the veg out of the fridge but she forgot and a new veg box comes tomorrow so there will be alot of soup and casserole between now and payday.

Hugs to everyone who needs one - I have had a read but am totally trainlagged so have forgotten most of it :)
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

  • Evening everyone - isn't Scotland cold :snow_laug :snow_grin Had a great day in Glasgow today. Thanks for your suggestions Haribo and Anniebooklover, but we resisted the shops and went to the Science Centre :j :T Great time at the planetarium there - much better than the cartoon version they now have at the London planetarium. We saw a show about the night sky which was fascinating. We did some people watching in a cafe, then got seriously caught out with trains back to Edinburgh. The station was chaos, and our return journey took nearly 3 hours   Dsis wasn't happy, so sulked and ignored me the whole evening. She's gone to the pub now (didn't invite me to go with them  ), so I've nicked her laptop ;):p :shhh: and her wine!

We're going to see an exhibition of Picasso drawings tomorrow, then some shopping :j  and home.

Aussie, you need to give the lettuce a rest - they're costing you money

Catch you all tomorrow, Penny. x

  • Had to smile at the sleepover bits - reminds me of various ones we had - with 3 girls we had plenty.
One for my eldest's 12th b'day, I rashly had them all afternoon, evening, night & next day till late afternoon, I was bug-eyed from it all!! Best (or worst) was when I sent them out to walk across the fields to the village, it gave me a breathing space & them some fresh air & exercise. Sadly most of the girls were from the town & NOT attired for country walks, they came back plastered in mud, I think 1 had tripped & bought 2 down with her, then decided that the rest were not going to get away with laughing at them & a massive mud fight ensued, I was not impressed with the little darlings!! I made them undress on the patio, threw them some towels & had to wash all their clothes b4 they were picked up by their parents. Most of them ended up going home in a wierd assortment of jumpers/jeans/socks gathered up from the recesses of my airing cupboard. Oh happy days, now long gone......
